I've decided what my next car will be, and have agreed a deal. Just waiting to find out if a certain kind shiter is collecting it for me this weekend or next. Watch this space! This would be my fourth 'hands free' collection in a row!

I hope it's the BMW 540i because that would mean I can stop planning to go to Aberdeen!

Is it a dealer special? That looks like a dealer fit type sunroof rather than the factory tilt and slide. Plus I’m seeing slightly gaudy coachlines. We just need a slightly naff name to finish the ensemble off.

These cars are like chalk and cheese. The Tourer is top spec, electric everything, but has led a hard life. The Hatch is absolutely base spec, and has had a gentle life. Engine feels lively (for an XUD), and apart from some creaks and rattles, is a decent car to drive.

I had one of those dealer sunroofs in my Renault, always leaked. If you can find the right profile you could replace the seal, I just used to put grease around mine.

Was nice taking it completely out and opening the rear quarter windows though.

Does it have power steering?  If not it's pretty much the twin of this one I owned two years ago.  Same spec (other than sunroof & graphics), colour and lacquer peel...

Yes, it has power steering. Yours was a year earlier, when they didn't put power steering on the base models.
