HMC
Avoid none essential travel. Avoid sociallising. Work from home. Little did I reallise it would take a public health crisis and a possible impending lockdown to stop me buying chod on bay. My usual modus operandi is to cycle/ train it to my destination and drive back. This basically is none essential travel and is one reason I’m not going to bid on a 1994 escort ghia estate near Brighton. Am I right to take this stance? Also it seems the death knell for classic car meets, at least for the near future. My latest practical classic mag landed last week and it’s full of enthusiasm and projects for the upcoming restoration show (which now isn’t happening) It certainly reinforces this forum as a place to share ideas and opinions and keep the flame alive! tul66
Well, one of the better things about not going out is I've finally done stripped & rebuilt this, and fitted it to this. dave j, Fat_Pirate, Kringle and 22 others
HMC
More humble achievements here with some longbridge tin. I took the time to make some new gaskets for the (leaky) rear lights in my rover r8.... I was inspired by memories of @KruJoe doing similar to his, years earlier, using a travel mat; and I followed suit. Fuck you rain. Schaefft
I wonder how the virus and impending economical downturn will actually affect shod prices. I can't imagine buying a crappy old car, or anything of higher value, would be anyone's priority right now. HMC
Exactly. Wonder. Lockdowns. Will they get flexibile about using cars with recently lapsed mots? Austin-Rover
I'm off to Kent on Thursday to collect a bumper for a Rover 800. I figure the amount of people I'll be in contact with is minimal (The seller, and a couple of visits to motorway services?) Not bad for a full day out for 'non essential' travel. I should imagine it'll have to be this week, or not at all. Fingers crossed the Motorways will be quiet! Angrydicky

Datsuncog
Minor irritation here, as the Weekly Minishite Tat Extravaganza has been cancelled for the foreseeable - Belfast City Council has shut down St George's Market, due to Covid-19 concerns. Since space and financial constraints mean I kinda have to rely on uncovering battered 1970s scale models to get my budget AS kicks these days, this is a small but personally annoying poke in the ribs. bunglebus and NorfolkNWeigh

If the toilet seat used as a benchmark is in Watford Gap, then that car must be Mingin. i get that the drivers seat cushion will have seen much natural fumigation in its time. so next time you pick up some 15 year old 23 owner chod, think horsebox
