Considering my example is for all intents and purposes an absolute nail, its smitten me with its capability, ruggedness and resilience. If it were any other car, it would have died years ago. 700/900 Volvos are much easier to work on than the FWD stuff too. Fuel economy is indeed shite, but if, like me, you don't do many miles now, I'd look at the bigger picture. Thirstiness might not be such a big deal when you weigh it up against the running/servicing costs, tax etc of the di*sel v70. And the 940 earns more shitter points ?
