I had a 120a coupe that was badly painted black back in the late 80's

I owned this one owner 21k mile one too in the late 90's that i should never of sold.

If you are ever looking to rehome yours then let me know.

The reg on this is pdd772m . It could be mine . You would know instantly because mine is the only one with the orange interior . If yours was black interior then it could have been the one in northern ireland which is now silver and restored .

Ah my badly painted black one was GML532N and is showing as untaxed since '89 while the white one JRN947N has been on a sorn for thirteen years.

There was a M reg black one years back parked on a drive way in Chatham owned by a guy call Brian who was a parts delivery driver for Unipart.

I agreed to buy but got cold feet as it was a bit rough even back then and i can't honestly recall what colour the interior was.

Edit. looking at the silver car in northern Ireland there are images of it when found and i am 99% certain that is the Chatham one as it had corroded reflectors in the rear lights and Brian had to tack extra reflectors and lamps on the back to pass the mot which has just jogged my memory.

It did come from Cornwall yes . I have had it several years now . Small world isnt it . I adore that car !

So glad it ended up in safe hands. It looked bizarre at the time, just sat there amongst the newer stuff. I guess it had been recently dragged out of long term storage by the fella with the yard, and he'd fortunately realised that he had a bit of a rarity on his hands.

This is the northern Irish one . It came from the Datsun specialist in east grinstead sussex . It was, black and gad those retro alloys that were on loads of Datsuns back in the day .

My old 160J SSS in shot, just the same as the one you're now lucky enough to own Richie.

It may have been ?

This car took ages to secure . We run the fso owners club and it took a 4 figure amount to prize their fingers off of it in the end . It was too good to break and banger race and a local kent car .

Probably is then from the sound of it.  They were convinced it was worth a fortune in parts and weren't even willing to entertain selling it whole.  Can't remember precisely what I offered them, but it can't have been far off a grand as it seemed far too good to break.

The graphics on the side are pretty distinctive too.

Makes me really happy to know it eventually wound up in good hands.

I really want a shot of a decent Polonez one day.  I've only driven a couple that I was looking at buying which turned out to be wrecks...so I've never driven a good one.

The most recent one was so rotten that the pedals moved about 1 1/2" from side to side when you turned the steering wheel because the bulkhead was flexing that much.  That had nearly a full MOT too!

They're still one of my favourite looking cars ever, functionality totally aside they just look fantastic.  Especially in a bright colour (orange please!) with the quad headlights and the white steel wheels.
