Shirley has a mouldy roof. In prep for her upcoming roffle, thought I should give it a clean.

Apply water. Then apply cleaner.

Then scrub. Lots of dirt came out.

Then rinse.

Much better. No green crap anymore. Could do with another wash, as its still got some dirt in it.

Then round to mates house, to supervise fitting of new headlight bulbs into his Mk1 focus.

As Suzi will be uninsured from this evening, she has been parked next to Audrey off road.

Audrey took 15 attempts to start. Definately knackered starter motor. Hopefully the repair kit on order, will work, as shes not useable till I can rely on her.

Anyway heres a pic of the two shitters together.

(Yes I know I've not replaced Suzi's front plate yet).

Big thanks to @andyberg for the lift. Much appreciated.

Now home.

Getting dark and raining, so more details tomorrow.

2005 CRV 2.0 ivtec Executive, manual

112k on clock, full history, just been serviced and new Goodyears all round.

Drives great.

Squeaky clutch pedal TADTS

Brake pedal bit softer than I'm used too, but she stops well.

Original satnav unit is knackered, but a replacement head unit, unexpectedly provided.

Leather, heated seats that are hot enough to melt your jeans.

Did 31mpg on way home, which means its all good, for this vintage of CRV.

Its nice to buy a car for once, where the previous owner is the one who has spent the bucks :)

First impressions now its home.

Drives well.

Slight pulley squeak from somewhere.

Soft (ish) brake pedal.

Both sunvisors broken (broke glass and missing covers).

I paid £1900 for it. I'm happy. Parts easily available and the car is easy to work on.

Mrs CSW approves.

Has giffer reversing sensor

Which is brilliant for grazing shins, when loading shopping into boot. Ask me how I know.

Once I can unrust the bolts, its going.

100 mile Honda CRV update

Booked into garage next Weds for either a brake bleed or fresh fluid. Am leaving it up to them to decide.

Booked into Honda in two weeks, for its drivers window switch pack recall.

Slight metallic scraping sound when accelerating. When giving it the VTEC beans, also get burning smell through the vents.

Possible failing pulley?? Now driving it like Miss Daisy, till I can get it investigated.

I'm trying to remember if these engines are chain driven or not. I think they are, but I can't for the life of me remember. Assuming the engine is chain driven, if it's a rattling sound during normal to mild acceleration then it could be the VTEC sprocket failing. We had this same issue on our 2009 Jazz when we sold it. We didn't know what the rattle was until we did some research after it was gone.

Chain driven.

Really hope its not vtec related. Its a metallic scraping sound.

Hope its a pulley on the serpentine belt, although some of the pulleys are attached to quite expensive ancillaries!
