It started with the water hose to the oil cooler leaking on a duel carriageway. The AA fixed it in 10 minutes, but it had blown the head gaskets. The AA then took me home.

I had the heads removed and sent to an engineering shop for a refurbishment. The guy in the photos was going to refit them, but had a heart attack! He is getting better but not working at the moment.

@ianbmw has been helping me and has got the heads back on, now it needs the cam belts and finishing putting back together. The trouble is Ian has chosen to prioritise his children, wife, job, own transport needs in front of this Australian built car. So selfish!

I like that better than mine as it is an Auto and that is right for such a car, plus leather and air con which I don't have.

Just to chip in here, if anyone wants to refit the timing belt, engine mount, plugs and inlet manifold……feel free!

 

if not, I need to do it within the next two weeks before it gets super cold.
