Jimblob
Hi, does anyone know someone who can do affordable car transportation from the Netherlands to the UK? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
sutty2006
There’s no such thing as cheap from abroad. The ferry and fuel will be a huge cost to start with. Good luck though.

bangernomics
What do you consider to be cheap? Where to where exactly and possible to drive it?
Jimblob
Thanks. Well I'm looking at a Citroen in the NL and trying to gauge cost to get it over, I have no benchmark except one quote for 800 euros does that sound high? If I had the time I'd go over in my Bongo and A frame it back. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I could lend you a trailer Chris but I’m 150 miles in the wrong direction. They’re only about £60 a weekend to rent, mind (or were), which is the petrol cost to fetch/deliver mine to you. I'm still pondering the options but time is my main constraint, I have a Mazda bongo and an A frame so I could probably go and get it myself (illegal I know)Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Remspoor
You are thinking about saving on the 850€ by using a vehicle and trailer? ? Ensure you export the car from NL correctly. https://www.rdw.nl/over-rdw/information-in-english/export/exporting-a-vehicle-with-a-dutch-registration-number Mrs6C
Remspoor
Have you contacted any transport services in The Netherlands? In amongst this list you can find some. https://www.marktplaats.nl/q/autoambulance+huren/ https://www.marktplaats.nl/q/autotransport/ Write in English. Maybe get a cheap flight and travel with the car back to the UK I don't know if this one is very cheap. He was a TV presenter and now runs a YT channel about his car transporting business. I feel his lorry is too large for your needs. But I would think he is some one to trust. his email is the about section. https://www.youtube.com/user/leodehaastv/videos

They can have some bloody funny rules as I have found out in the past. Our old VW bus died near the ferry terminal and we had a right game getting it on, they refused to allow it to be towed on with rope or A framed on. In the end we managed to get it running enough to get it on and off thankfully.
lesapandre
Not possible to drive it...get it roadworthy? You may be able to insure in UK using the VIN. Yes as as has been stated be very careful what the ferry company will allow - not an A-frame. Jimblob
Remspoor
A frames are they legal in the countries you wish to cross? It is difficult in the UK https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/a-frames-and-dollies/a-frames-and-dollies I feel it is impossible in all or most EU countries. Search and a lot of questions about this subject come up in motorhome forums.

nigel bickle
I A frame back/ forth regularly. I’ve only once had an issue, at the French end of the tunnel - but they soon amended their view after a rapid maneuvering demonstration around the car park! I’ve had no issues since - although I won’t A frame across Germany ( unless it’s dark/ fast!) Mr_Bo11ox
