Zelandeth
Ah, echoes of the Jag. £90-110 to fill at a month or so back's prices. 140-180 miles before being back at the fuel station. Think 6mpg over a tank was my worst! sdkrc and Lacquer Peel 1
GingerNuttz
Inside the door there's a little white plastic popper on the rod that attaches to the handle and it'll have popped out again, done it a few times with me too. The little metal clip that holds it in is tired, you have to remove the door card and remove the handle to put it back on the rear of the handle. One of the many anti theft features that came on the 66 Galaxie 😂 eddyramrod, sdkrc and Dan_ZTT
sdkrc
⚠️non Galaxie post warning ⚠️ The year is 2013 and I've just been chipped out by my fiancee for the final time to move onto my mum's couch. I cope with the breakup much as most guys do - getting buff, using dating apps and crying in the car at midnight. She wires me my half of our savings, £4400. I have a modest sum and absolutely no ties, responsibilities or plans. Beyond being in the gym, dating, copious amounts of football and work, there's an empty void I had to fill by trying to make the shittest decisions I could. After 3 or 4 pints with my dad, the world's most interesting man, he suggested Bitcoin or perhaps a riskier, alternative investment... a job lot of 30 victorian fireplaces in Southampton and an LT35 luton body to pick them up. I sent him the money and didn't hear back for several weeks and then I heard the bare minimum...fireplaces picked up, van working. This lack of updates soon escalated into no significant news for over a year until I got: 'the diffs fucked so I swapped it for a 7.5 tonner and I've moved to France'. My investment materialised in 2017 when my dad flew to the south of France to pick up the 7.5 tonner which was full of tools and shit. He drove it several hundred miles north until the engine shit itself in some random village at 4am. He wrote a sign in paper and plunked it in the window 'casse, tout est gratis' and then proceeded to walk 10 miles to the train. The bitcoin would be worth approx $80k today cort16, Matty, Banger Kenny and 12 others
sdkrc
Miner update Up until today, this was a non-functioning passenger door lock. 20 mins gently teasing it out and got nowhere so I knocked fuck out of it, causing it to explode. New driver and passenger locks in and one functioning. Also managed to fix the mirror adjustment whilst I was back there bringing us up to a grand total of 1 mirror...and it's on the driver's side. Went to replace the fucked earth lead and spent an inordinate amount of time looking up terminal connector sizes. I added an eBay battery isolator after seeing it on another thread None were big enough so I did some drilling I glued the rearview mirror back on after a fair while cleaning and prepping. Held it on with this finely crafted duct tape cradle. Waited 24hrs and it seemed passably stuck, my son ripped it off within 30seconds of entering the car. Replaced the dizzy cap. Runs marginally better but needs some timing adjustment/sounds like an unhappy Massey Ferguson. Adjusting the timing seems like a 5min job if YouTube is anything to go by. Smashing. VID20220121130752~2.mp4 I've got aux/power steering belts, exhaust manifold gaskets, universal door seals and some wire to excite the alternator. They'll be next. GingerNuttz
That's missing on a few cylinders by sounds of it, the carb might be blocked up with shit from the tank so it would be worth a punt popping the top off to clean the jets and re set the float height. sdkrc
Live collection thread I'm an hour in and I've lost £25 because I was too thick to book the train in advance. The bit I'm most looking forward to is a big shit at a service station on the way home. I sold a car last week and noticed the rear passenger light cluster had shat itself as the buyer drove away. Leg 1: bus. There was a bomb threat 250m from here last week. Stay classy Leg 2: le train a moins vitesse Look at this building. Belter For entertainment we have this Lunch: already gone. Besides, you want that service station deposit to be something to remember. Get yourself to the buffet, man. sdkrc, dome and Jim Bell

NorthernMonkey
All the way from Colne Asda to Lancaster services on only half a tank?! You must be bloody light footed…. By the way, the cruise control works in reverse to every other thing I’ve ever driven…down to set the speed then back up to increase fuel consumption. I’m off home in a diesel E46 shortly. It’ll be the cheapest commute I’ve had for months…. 🥳🥳 juular, Jim Bell and sdkrc

sdkrc
Stonks. Don't know how many months this has been out of the game but it runs and moves now. Had to take the lil' battery to the tip because it had begun to bulge and expand. Took maybe 40 seconds to run on its own steam and then it conked out. Sounded like a fuel delivery problem so checked fuel pipes and carb, sprayed some carb cleaner in and fired her up again. What a happy little engine.
