Prote
Howdy all. I've bitten the garlic-tasting bullet and will see how winter goes with my Xsara Pigasshole. I've put on 4 tyres with a winter symbol. MOT this coming week and it's making a clonky donk-donk-donk noise from the front left when turning right on uneven surfaces. Turning left is quiet. Is that likely to be a CV joint? Had the clutch done (LuK) and new nose cone and release fork. Clutch still a bit vibratey and a little thump when letting clutch in - driveline shunt. Had new rear and offside rear engine mounts already. Could the CV joint cause some of this rattly stuff? While it's in the garage am hoping to get these things sorted. Fanks all. FakeConcern
CVJs often sound like that for ages without failing the MOT as not enough play so it may be ok, just annoyingly clicking!

Exactly this. Saab 900s are buggers for it (due to having a really tight steering lock), they'll clonk maddeningly for years before it actually becomes a problem. Prote
Howdy all. It turned out to be the top shock mounts, so just replaced both sides and new shocks. Lot quieter!!!! Thanks to all! Tamworthbay, Asimo and strangeangel
beko1987
One of the shock mounts in my 406 had gone, sounded awful at low speeds, going fast it was OK though I've still got the new strut top bearings in the shed if any 406 lockers want them? New but pattern
