AS in the Community - 01.02.2020: the Association of Associated MASSIVS hits Cannock auctions again...

The S-Class was only showing a fault for tyre pressure, but tbh if I was selling an S-Class at auction I'd leave a Bluetooth dongle in it and be furiously resetting the warning lights as it lumbered through.

That red Fiat was hilarious, I guess it's a bad crash repair as the wing was a different colour. But the boot lid was squiffy too, had panel gaps that would make a BL employee blush.

V6 Twatrag actually seemed relatively quiet, perhaps that's just compared to the number of cars that were knocking their tits off at idle.

I thought I'd go home on the A5 which should have been a less stressful waft than the motorway, but I didn't account for two cars driving into each other somewhere near the second M6 toll junction.

15 minutes of giving details on a freezing/hurricane-afflicted overpass wasn't on the agenda, but at least my dashcam footage is unequivocal on who's to blame!

That Forester was a bargain.

Some of my estimates were wide of the mark, so I won't share what my score was...

Chod assembled.

I want a Persona now.

Trip stats today in the 406 were 358 miles at 51mpg, which is better than the usual high 40s I get.

Gr9 day out.  Will do again.

I then went to Alum Rock in Birmingham to see a mate, and tbh I've never felt quite so out of place driving up alum rock high street with The Neal Morse band playing, window open smoking a rolly...

Fun was had

And now I'm home! Got to unpack the car yet though

Oh and @Sloth in a bowl, you'll be pleased* to know it was the charger dead on that dyson! Gave it a 2 hour charge on my mates v6 one and it fired right up! Not determined if the battery is any good or not yet mind. But thanks!

@Heidel_Kakao is your dc33 missing the little flip up cap at the top of the wand? I've got one on my passenger side floor...

Was it?? I must’ve missed that!

That fucking Dispatch damaged my lungs though

One car started blowing white smoke whilst the bidding was going on, and we were stood by the door when something else started smelling properly fucked all of a sudden!

Any more pics from this? Quite fancied being there to meet some Shiters, but in true AS style I frankly couldn't be arsed.

Would like to see just how knackerered some of the crap that went through was though. Citroen Dispatch(ed) sounds qualitee too.

how is beko last when he drives uber uber shite???

See the source image

Having said that if he hadn't picked the Merc S class he'd probably have beaten me as I put in my usual unimpressive performance. Still, it's the taking part that counts and there's plenty of scope for improvement. Roll on the next one. ?

Home. I now have 4 tyres for dome and engine for Captain_70s.

Any more of this delivery nonsense and I'll start charging for it.

Curious to see what the MPG figure for the 740 will seeing as the entire journey was done in convoy with the Acclaim at 60mph so that said Honda* wasn't doing 4700rpm everywhere.

Am also home, 640 miles covered. Got 45mpg going down the road, assume similar for the return trip.

Was a great time 11/10 would do again. Many thanks to the multiple people who assisted with engine collection - more deets when I do a proper write up.

The good lady will be well chuffed she beat me by miles in the auction game...
