Angrydicky
Just been out for a nice long spotting trip, as I've been neglecting my thread and there's so much GR8 stuff around that needs photographing! Lets start in Shoebury, with this rare Mitsubishi Lancer. This is driven by a young (and fit) girl, surprisingly. Been after this one for ages, daily transport for some heroic old giffer I imagine. Shitey split-screen Moggy for Scooters - come back old chap. This is another daily. Old Vespa for Cavette Is it D701SWL? Then onto Southend My dad nearly bought this Triumph 2000 a few years ago, since then it's been through two owners and has been mildly customised. Still very tidy though. MG Montego is a complete waste Already been spotted by Shep Shepherd, but I thought it was worth getting a couple more pics before it disappears forever. Sadly this bloke was out in his daily-driver Wolseley 18/85 (pre-war) and the Jag Sovereign down the side of the house wasn't really visible. Then to Westcliff, and another one I've been after for ages! This is owned by a young lad who always seems to be outside tinkering with it. A bit 'scene' maybe, but it is super hot and immaculate, kudos to him as it lives outside all year round. Leigh now This never seems to move. Chrysler PT Cruiser w/hubcaps....just...because. I rang the doorbell of the house this was outside and some old dear answered it. She told me the cars all belonged to her son, who used her house as a dumping ground. Most were given to him apparently. Heading into Rochford now Here's another shite house I've been after for ages, sadly there were lots of neighbours around so I had to be very quick with my shots, there's another Whizzkid in there, a MK2 Jag behind the Sherpa and several more Minis and Midgets. The Sherpa looked really smart when it first appeared there, about 2002ish. Into Hockley now, and yet another shite house. But hang on, what's that? Is that a WARTBURG? This Mini has been here since the dawn of time. He has a couple of other examples of chod under mildew-coated covers on the driveway. FD VX 4/90? Pao daily driver. And back to Rochford.... Tax exempt? OH RLY? GR8 4 COUNCIL ESTATE ELVIS, this belongs to the chap I bought my Cambridge from. It's full of wob. These two both belong to the same bloke, the estate is HUGE! The vinyl roof on it is very lumpy all over, like there's rust bubbling up all over the place underneath. That's all folks!
brammy777
All in one morning?! Your area is clearly absolutely amazing for shite, I could only dream of stuff like that all in the space of a few hours. Impossible to pick a favourite, but the abandoned MKIV Cortina and Montego are great finds, I bet the latter was a real weapon. Once.
seth
Brilliant spotting! I'm more impressed by the Bond rather than the Wartburg but anyone with both is truly a hero.
AnthonyG
Great stuff AD. Avenger and the A40/Herald collection are highlights. Looks like there's more quality chod in one corner of Essex than in several counties in Wales!

Lord Sterling
Excellent spotting there AD! Some quality shite you've got there around Essex, I kinda wished I spent a bit more time there when I picked up the 820e. I did spot a few things going through North East London but I just didnt have the time to stop and snap. I recognise the old Mercedes in Southend, was having a look through that road on Google Earth and spotted it, there used a be some old caravan where the Merc is now sitting. The MG Montego, have got the full reg? Wouldnt mind finding out when it was last in use or on SORN, a real shame seeing that, its also got the 'Austin-Rover exclusive bodystyling kit'. Needs to be saved, but if its been there for a particularly long time, I doubt the underside will look too pretty, though parts can be had I guess. Angrydicky
Thanks guys! Brammy, I work as a delivery driver, so am always spotting cars which I think "must go back with the camera". This was what I was doing this morning. Unfortunately I couldn't remember the location of some shite and didn't make it to some locations, also a couple of cars I really wanted to get (Allegro estate and Saab 96) weren't at home. Still plenty around for the next update though! Here you go Lordship! The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for G596 WMK are: Date of Liability 01 05 2012 Date of First Registration 17 01 1990 Year of Manufacture 1990 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1994CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status SORN Not Due Vehicle Colour RED Unfortunately it's difficult to say which house it belongs to. It actually looked amazingly solid from what I could see of it, but the way the paint had worn off suggested it had been sitting there for a long, long time. Here it is on Google Earth, which was taken in summer 2009: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 47,,0,8.
Angrydicky
Update! This morning I took my Austin Cambridge up to Walton-on-the-Naze for the Cambridge/Oxford club 'Drive it Day' rally. While I was there I met up with BMC Dan, and did a bit of shite spotting around the local area! Here's the Cambridges, Oxfords and Westminsters to start with. Westminster from Holland. Then onto the shite spotting! Apologies if you've seen some of these before. These were in a scrapyard at Walton-on-the-Naze. Early Nova 'Swing' in delightfully well used condition. Architectural shite: This A35, in slightly better condition, was for sale in Clacton (Jaywick) The respray was so fresh you could smell the cellulose standing next to the car! These were also in Jaywick This A40 Cambridge was on a driveway in Holland-on-Sea: Dan got caught snapping this Volvo with a 'Pollendines of Frinton' numberplate by a curtain-twitching old biddy in the bungalow. We made a hasty retreat! Bonus Sunny content. Monza No comment. This A40 Farina was in the carport of a really shitty looking, possibly empty flat, in Holland. And we spotted this collection of Sierras and shitey DS on a main road near Clacton. I did wonder if the blue Sierra at the back was a 'grey grille' version, alas not. Angrydicky
Long overdue update! Remember the Renault 10 from about 18 months ago? Well it looks like it's been sold as it's appeared on a driveway much closer to me. It's been T-cut and polished and actually looks quite nice. The new owner has what appears to be a mid-1930's Standard 10 to keep it company. Mr Lobster
Quality spottage, very enjoyable. Theres some excellent old tat around there, I could spend the next year wandering around here and not see half of that. Re the abandoned Transit - how do they get away with it being left on the road yet clearly dead / abandoned? Surely some council official / thieving pikey must have clocked it and wanted it moved off the road?

Angrydicky
Thanks guys Lord Sterling, one of the cars on my 'list' was a derelict MK1 800 saloon in Benfleet, unfortunately it looks like it's been scrapped in the last few months as it's no longer there. The MG Montego from a few months ago has gone as well, looks like it's also been scrapped as it's no longer showing up on the DVLA computer

Angrydicky
Afraid not. I'm trying to find it on Google, although it's not where I thought it was. When I last saw it (about six months ago) it was covered in algae and I'd say it had been there at least five years, so I'd have expected it to show up on Google maps. There may still be hope! I'm stumped! Cheers CJ! Well it's not a very easy one I have to admit. The only reason I know what it is now is because in the last year the cover has become loose at the back, revealing the numberplate and badges when the wind catches it. I'll just say it's a big, German automatic barge, first registered on a 1971/72 K reg with a 2500cc engine. I've probably given it away now Mystery car! by angrydicky, on Flickr
Angrydicky
Well today I decided to try and find the notorious 'Canvey Shite House' that Outlaw118 tipped me off about! This was my first view of the cars. The 'Polski-Fiat' I'd seen on Google turned out to be a very late FSO 125P, a car I have never seen in the wild before. This one has been sitting here since 1995. 1987 FSO 125P - E919 CHJ by angrydicky, on Flickr 1987 FSO 125P - E919 CHJ by angrydicky, on Flickr These two were lurking in front. I had to walk right up to the FSO to get a shot of the numberplates, so I was quick in case the owner saw me. Having said that, all the curtains were drawn and the house looked empty to me. The Datsun was last taxed in 1987, the Lada last saw the road in 1990. 1978 Datsun 120Y estate and 1982 Lada 1500 estate by angrydicky, on Flickr Walking around to the side of the house now, here's some more shots of the FSO. 1987 FSO 125P - E919 CHJ by angrydicky, on Flickr 1987 FSO 125P - E919 CHJ by angrydicky, on Flickr 1987 FSO 125P - E919 CHJ by angrydicky, on Flickr The front of the Datsun. You nutter Cheers Outlaw! I went to the Vange show, which was a bit naff, then went straight over to Canvey afterwards. jonny69
Wow, this has got to be one of the GR10est spotted threads! Can't believe I've missed it before! Loving the shite house. It might just be some old giffer on his last legs living in there. Once the wife dies and teh oldness craziness sets in, old men have a habit of pulling the curtains, not washing and generally living in their detritus. Now I've got to sit here and wait until lunchtime to see if your older pics are still up or if it's the work firewall blocking them.
