I love how much you love this car. It’s getting treated better than probably any other Picasso on the road. Top work!

they are some very splendid wheel trims indeed! i do have a spare set i need to restore (full of scratches)

i do like a car with genuine wheel trims and mudflaps.......

my main thing i have been looking at are wheel trims on cars, oh and what brand tyres people have..............as you can imagine i am a very exciting person

What do you do to counter this one.....

Ok so as is typical with this time of year the dirty spray off cars and trucks hits my windscreen......what to do so I am not spraying windscreen wash on the window every 30 seconds?....or is that just unavoidable....?

Unavoidable in my experience - I get through about 5 litres a week in winter.

I'd saw my arm off for the digital climate control panel in my picasso but it's so not worth the faff on it will be to replace it

I have that fitted...and cruise control...and Huuuggeeee sunroof, and tow bar...well it IS an Exclusive.. Not a fan of the Alloys fitted though - too much like wheel trims!!

would also prefer 16" rims as the 15's are about £10 a corner more expensive round here!!!!

some nice 5 (large ) spoke ones plz

todays task was to repaint the wheels.......for no other reason than i was bored,

Rear ones were the worst, obviously due to rear drum brakes and no brake dust mixed in the 14 years of crap on them

I used plastic spray paint, sure i know it's unsuitable for this but come on it looks way better, not the best paint job on earth due to running out of paint

once everything is clean it will look really good, it already looks great under the trims.

general update:

All together running good, almost at 93,000 miles so about 9k in my ownership over the past 6 months,

In that time i have had all tyres replaced, brake pipes replaced, 2 oil changes, new clutch, new ball joint, sills welded and new wiper blades.....total cost for everything in repairs £575, which isn't too bad for a car i got for free which i saved from the scrapyard.

I have fitted genuine roof bars, wind deflectors, replaced a few interior pieces, new parcel shelf, mud flaps, restored the exterior plastics, painted the tow bar, sorted out the engine cover, replaced all door speakers and the rest is just a full service,

For a first car i'm glad i did it this way, i have my dream car and i have learned a lot and had a lot of fun sorting everything out and making it as good as possible.

I plan to keep this car for a good while yet as it's a damn lot better than most picassos out there.

i have complete faith in this car to perform reliably

Flippin heck I didnt realise you got it for free!! Mucho respecto!

Keep this thread going....I like reading about it and it gives me inspiration to get on and tidy up the xantia....well I'll go as far as I can with it - there are some pretty serious dents and scrapes on it but love smooth runner!

Get the inside on the go....seats out, wetvac, drill brushes the lot ????
