That's one of the few cars I'd swap the BX for, obviously including its big sister the Riva.

I'm 50/50 on what to do with it really, it's safe and being stored at the moment

Just picked up this fine* automobile from @puntopaul

Be a good daily runabout for a while, fingers crossed it makes the drive home

Was great to meet you, an hope you got back home all okay. And that the Punto does the job as a daily runner, forgot to say the city button. For extra light power steering, does work as well! And the radios box / packaging, and the books etc.. for it are in the car.  The original Fiat handbooks, and Sony CD player facia plate box are in the glovebox.

Gave it a wash and bit of a wax, had to go over it a few times to get all the grime clean. Looks presentable now!

Before and after pics for the interior are below, the passenger footwell was more than half clean by the time I got around to taking a pic but there was a lot to get through

Feels like a fresh car now, I'll be looking in the scrapyard for a replacement drivers seat and doing the timing belt etc soon

Cheers ? took me a while on the way home to figure out what the city button was for. Looks to be a good car and it's nice to give it a new lease of life

Glad it's gone to a good home, and it looks a million times better for a marathon wash. And a very thorough hoovering inside, it's hard to believe it's the same car now!!

Hopefully you'll find a good drivers seat soon :) as that's the only bit that let's it down inside. At least you worked it out what the city button was, does come in handy at times. The timing belt, and service parts are be fairly cheap in these. So well worth doing, as there not exactly big money items.

Wired an aux cable into the head unit that came with the car,  had to connect it to the left and right channels + a ground coming from the CD reader.
I used a CD-RW with an 80 minute long silent track to trick it into playing, and the sound it picks up comes from my phone.

Works well, I'll get a small grommet or something for the hole at some point.

Also put "new" seats in, the only car with a decent interior at the scrapyard was all blue so I took the rear and passenger seats to match, was all v cheap and I don't have to sit on a non breathable cover now, they do need a bit of a wash though

Wow, is that a clean sheet design from lada? Or based on something else?

I believe it's based on the Samara 2 but I could be wrong!

£400 is a bargain! I would be interested in buying that when you are done with it

Unfortunately it's destined to eventually become the donor car to give my Samara a spicier 16v and fuel injection to make it reliable enough for daily use.

I was planning on buying an engine in Russia and bringing it back on a trip in the future, but couldn't pass up on this for the price. I'm suprised it didn't sell months ago when its ad was being shared!

Didn't Lada Power sell upgraded camshafts for your engine? Pretty sure some 2109 tuning parts were on the site not too long ago.

Finally scrapped the Punto yesterday

I'll be getting a few bits together and hopefully before long the Samara will be in a state ready for daily use.

I think so, I'm about to order some bits from a tuning shop in Moscow that I've used before because they have a far larger selection so I'll buy everything there, I'm set on getting the Samara set up with fuel injection, 16v etc.

Basically the same as my Samara, a bit wafty with a little more power

I'm taking it back to Carlisle today and the seats are killing my back, practically no support whatsoever

You, my friend, need to put a K-Series in your Lada.

When I figure out how I'll let you know.

But I love that Lada you got.

Mountain goat this one.. Went over Wrynose and Hardknott pass.
Wipers stopped working on the way back from Scotland and I haven't sorted it yet.
Got a bit hairy when it was pissing down on the way to Keswick

@doug Was it often hammered up 1 in 3 gradients when you were driving it? 😄

I'm now the proud* owner of this 45 Club TD.
The main plan being to have a useable car to drive while the weather is tits to hopefully save my Samara from disintegrating like a wet tissue...

Bought from @bigmancaff, formerly owned by @wuvvum and @bramz7 I believe.
Cleans up nice after a bit of effort and wax, changed a few bulbs, the oil and the very scuffed accessory belt.

Also, this was turd was scrapped as nobody wanted a shit Lada 110 shell with an 8v engine, who would have thought.
Note the crash damage to the front that we found hidden under the front bumper.

16v swap on the Samara is also about done, just need a bit of time free for the last stretch.
