DVee8
This years NEC Classic Motor show November 8-10 is almost with us. Who is going? Myself and No1 son are looking at going Saturday 9th, I haven't been for about 9 years.
brownnova
I try to go every other year, so as I didn’t go last year it’s my year to go! Will try and potter along with Mrs_b and junior_b. One year we should really do an AS stand. I’m thinking Yugo 45, Umm Alter II, Sao Penza and Sierra bAse. Maybe one of the forum bikes too... ProgRocker
I'm going! Been meaning to go for the last 2 years. I booked Thu 7th & Fri 8th November off work, so going on the first day. 2 nights in a hotel in Birmingham so I can make a mini break of it, have a few beers and saunter back home on the Saturday. Skizzer
I have to work on the Friday but will very probably go along on the Saturday.
Amishtat
This is usually a damn good show, whatever you're into it'll almost certainly be there. Friday is the best day in my opinion, there's a lot fewer people than the Saturday so you can get round and look at things more easily.
SiC
Not been on a Saturday but done Friday and Sunday before. Friday was busier than when I've been on a Sunday before. I'm hoping to go this year but depends when I'm actually and eventually moving
HMC
Tempted, I saw in a classic rag there was a deal on cheaper parking (from memory it was on the airport car park) wonder just how far that is on foot?
chaseracer
About five minutes, all indoors apart from crossing the road by the car park at the railway station.
Schaefft
I definitely wanted to go again, then I realized I'll be in Majorca? Could be worse I guess.

dollywobbler
I would recommend against going on a Saturday. It's always the busiest day, by quite some margin. First one I'll be missing for some years. I reckon the March Restoration Show is more of an Autoshite fit. Question is, do we actually want to promote Autoshite by being at a show? HMC
A slightly more subversive (and selective) approach might be to stick a few cards under wipers of those vehicles meeting the strict* and rigourous* standards of taste, style, engineering merit* and condition we all apply to our own fleets. tapir, chaseracer and Twiggy
DVee8
My tickets arrived on Friday. I have been looking at parking costs,NEC £16 on the day £12 if booked in advance. Years and years ago I popped a few cards under windscreens at the show trying to sell some of my old motors and got told off - you might get told off too! inconsistant
I'll hopefully be on the 924 Owners Club stand on the Saturday if anyone wants to pop by and reel off a few cliches. We're usually in the posh hall so do try to look smart.

RobT
I'm going to the restoration show at Shepton Mallet instead, as my car fix before the season ends. Can't be arsed with the NEC crowds. https://www.footmanjames.co.uk/classic-car-bike-events/footman-james-classic-vehicle-restoration-show-2019

Dippy
The best way to view this show is to help on a club stand and get in on setup day (Thursday). Its great to walk round empty halls looking at the cars as the stands are being built. I have on a couple of occasions just walked in wearing a hi-viz vest and looking like im supposed to be there on a Thursday without being questioned. Not a patch on the winter NEC show. Pretty much got around the whole show in 40 mins. Decent selection of cars in the classic bit parked up though. Will dump some pictures in a thread later. bangernomics
ProgRocker
I'm now on a Virgin train to Birmingham New Street. Ironically will be going past the NEC. I couldn't find any hotels near there so I settled for Brum.

Wack
When I went in 2016 I parked in the resorts world multi storey , now it's £2.50 for 12 hours when you spend £20 in the shops or restaurants It's a short walk to the nec 5-10 minutes I'd sooner spend £20 on anything than pay £16 to park chaseracer
