Suspect water in the fuel. It got very grumpy again coming out of The Warwick services but we have discovered it will run at high revs with a feathered throttle. Accident on the M42 persuaded us to go through Solihull in an effort to keep moving. Worked well, kept moving and the roads were quiet. Just on to the M6 toll now.

On the M6 toll around ten minutes ago...crikey. It'll be a 4am return to base.

I look forward to catching up in the morning! And if baby decides to go FULL AWAKE MODE at 4.15am again like she did this morning (yay sleep regression/teething/farted herself awake) I may even be able to tune in for the landing.

436.6 miles and three weeks after leaving Cobham, I am home, I am broken and my nerves are FUCKED.

That said... if you had asked me 434.6 miles ago how I thought I was getting home, I can almost guarantee you I wouldn't have said "by Hyundai", but the old girl got us home.

Fuel filter replacement top of the list, some of the hills on the M74 were 40mph shots and by the time we saw the Glasgow City Council signs cruising speed was down to 50-ish mph from a peak of 75.

When she's on song... wow. Sweet sounding, eager and gutsy. Just need to get more fuel down her.

 

Anyway. It is now 4.46. I am going to bed.
