Colour me interested depending an LOADS OF OTHER DETAILS, but do mention it to him if you remember fella.

I've text him and I'll take pics etc on Tuesday.

From memory, its a blue manual selecta. So is pretty rapid, it has front fogs. I wanna say Alfa leather seats but I could be wrong, he has that many I forget what has what. ?

I'm ignorant, but the Selectas were CVT right?

Is a manual selecta a CVT that's been swapped out for a manual box or was it a factory edition?

Sounds interesting either way.

Deffo grab some pics and details if you can man.

Much appreciated.

Selectas were CVT, and with a 1.1 litre engine. However they always break and so this has been swapped for a manual box.

Following on from my Overlander post from earlier. Look at this fucking delightful thing that you can rent in Sardinia.

Let's all ignore the aerodynamics and the fact the tent costs €3500, some kind of roof tent on a 4x4 would be amazing.

P.s. Bare in mind it's 2am and I can't sleep.

I am currently piss wet through.

John hasn't got his phone today and he was following me to his house. I lost him on the m1, but it's only 20 miles to his house.

...

30 minutes I figure hes lost. 45 maybe stopped to walk the dog or traffic as the m62 had many accidents.

I've been at his house for 3 hours and I've been up and down the m62 as he hasn't turned up.

So I rang highways agency and said "if I give you his reg can you tell me if he's broken down or had an accident."

"Only if a reg number has been logged..... OK, he broke down at 6:05 on the m62 junction 29 and he's waiting for the AA who said they'll be an hour.

Still waiting for him and the truck to arrive and they should be here any minute. I hope.

Has the poor lad made it home yet?

He turned up at 745 I reckon. In an enclosed transporter with the fanciest remote control ramp in the back, the guy said he is the AA. But they use this for Porsches/Aston Martins etc, because it looks bad if a Ferrari is on a flatbed. The fact that an orange Panda was on there...

Anyway, water had been boiled and John reckons the water pump and head gasket have gone.

My 4x4 survived the perilous journey and I can't gloat at the minute as I've only just got home and I'm knackered and hungry. The first part of today was fantastic though,

OK, so today was a Panday. The route is above somewhere and I didn't want a rock climbing challenge as I was unsure if the car would be capable.

Everyone loves the orange 4x4. The amount of comments from people is incredible.

As we set off, we stopped at Sainsburys to check the tyre pressures and to fill up. I wasn't quite on fumes, but 27 litres to full isn't great. The manual lists it as a 30 litre tank.

We were on the byroad and we passed a few ramblers, we went around a corner and we ran over Tony Robinson. It was a proper Roman road, with fist sized rocks. Luckily both cars have fairly decent sump guards so we had no issues. Well, almost. My airbag lights lit-up, I stopped. Turned the engine off and on and the light came back on. I then turned the airbag off and on manually and that fixed the problem as it never came back on.

John avoided every puddle, I was perplexed as I booted it through the smallest damp patch. Water would go over the roof and I was smiling alot. Bare in mind, I'm a simple man.

We stopped at Semer Water, John went off to walk the dog and I decided to look through my service history... It's a bloody full service history, cambelt and water pump at 66k. (Just hit 106k). Other stuff in the pics.

The car doesn't like anything above 60mph, it sounds like the Mysterons are after me. We reckon it's the tyres. I checked the prop bracket and it's got a faint crack, but there's buggar all wrong with it. It had a full cat-back exhaust last week and there's no noise whatsoever. The car also came with a CD, Elton Johns Greatest Hits.

It's a great little car and I unfortunately, I have to wait until the Cactus goes back, before I can have him next to the Alessi.

P.s. The Ebay 4x4 stickers will be going immediately,

This is what my interior looks like and I think you'll agree, it's rubbish.

500 rear seats bolt in and the front seats require a bracket swap. I would like these red leather Abarth seats. Non leather you can get for £300 or so. Black leather £300-400, red leather a bit more. However the rear seats are always black leather. (Unless it's an Abarth 595)

The normal 500 front and rear red leather with the circular headrests you can get for under £200. But, I may aswell do it properly.

There's a half brown leather one for £175, but then my door cards wouldn't match.

Ah that's sad.

Nice pics but sad they're dead. Did they at least have a good innings?

The Fizz died of rot I believe. Mine the gearbox worked, but nothing else did.... A few months after I sold it, the gearbox died.

....

The 2wd has a 35 litre tank, the 4x4 has 30 litres and here's why.
