ETCHY
Hello Dunno if this has ever been done as a topic before (I did search but couldn't find anything) but as per the title, what's yours & why? For me it's our old 1998 K11 Micra 1.3 auto, Equation (base model). Not an earth shattering car, not a car that drew a crowd or admiring glances & it wasn't over-endowed with features (not even a cigarette lighter), but we loved that little car, it just did everything right, had bags of character & was surprisingly brisk (in contrast to it's blue rinse image). We were gutted when rust & a knackered CVT 'box consigned "Muji" to the scrapper. Utterly illogical I know but it was like one of the family ! So, lets hear about yours
sutty2006
My old 24v Senator. I sold it about 7/8 years ago and it went over the pond. A mate of mine bought it back over and only lives half a mile away, so I know where it is. blakey79, Sudsprint, Burnside and 8 others

gadgetgricey
So many, but still have a soft spot for the Passat GL5's I owned. Not that quick, but a lovely place to be and a really lovely gearbox. (Goes off to auto trader) ETCHY and Shep Shepherd
Shep Shepherd
The Volvo: I've owned it for nearly 16 years, and barring terminal rust or heavy body damage, I expect it to be with me for quite some time yet anonymous user, Burnside, Joey spud and 2 others

Timewaster
205Gti I had when I was 21. Loved that car. Wasn't shite at all. Drove it like a twat everywhere. Spent days and days cleaning it. Pulled girls in it. Would get up early just to go and hoon about in it while the roads were quiet. Probably the last car I would drive just cos I wanted to drive it, not to get anywhere. Although I probably just miss being 21. twosmoke300, Microwave, Burnside and 6 others 7
jumpingjehovahs
This ridiculous little thing. I miss it every day and it’s been gone for 6 years. The only brand new car I’ve ever had, probably that I’ll ever had. It was nippy, so comfortable, efficient, safe and BURSTING with character. I had the chance to buy it back and regret it. Would have it (her, Daisy) back again tomorrow. Recommend them to anyone and everyone who’ll listen. (You should buy one )Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ETCHY and Burnside
Fumbler
+1 on K11s, however the car I miss would most likely be nearly of all our Volvos. They were reliable (except for the red V70 D5), comfortable, had bags of room and were rock solid (apart from the red V70 D5). Father Fumbler missed them so much that he bought another Mk.1 V70 automatic. Shep Shepherd and ETCHY
iainrcz
I think I miss my 406 and 508 GT equally really. The 406 was fantastically reliable. Hardly spent a penny on it.The 508 was just a cracking car. It's just a shame the seat gave me fucking hideous back and hip pain!Sent from my VFD 710 using Tapatalk

GeordieInExile
My 306 GTi-6. P463WGT, come back to me. Bought unseen off eBay, it was on for £700 and incredibly nobody bid on it so I messaged the guy and offered that. 12 month MOT, full history and one owner who had loved it but gone to work abroad and left the car for his brother to sell. Failed the MOT the next year on emissions and a couple other bits... I should have just given it the £800 in work it needed. I would still have it now, I know it. Such a fantastic thing to just throw about a country road. Sudsprint

danthecapriman
Two for me. First was this, 1987 Volvo 740 2.3GLE Auto. I bought it in 2006, didn’t need it but wanted it! I did loads on it to pull it back from a bit of a shed and it really was in superb condition by the time I sold it. I went all over the place in it too and it never once put a foot (or wheel!?) wrong. I loved it to bits but had to sell it on. When I met the buyer at the train station for the handover I knew I’d fucked up doing it. I’m not ashamed to admit it, but I had a lump in my throat watching it drive away! Second was this, Mk2 Granada 2.8 Ghia x auto. This was a brilliant old beast of a car! Lovely thing to drive and look at. Regrettably sold due to stupid choices with other cars and it was another I hated letting go of. Went to a good home though! NorfolkNWeigh
I don't regret selling ( or scrapping) anything , because at the time there was a reason, even if I cant recall it now. The numerous old Fords from Escorts to Zodiacs that if I'd kept would be worth a fortune now, were invariably fucked and rusty and when I off loaded them to the next mug . Likewise the Jags, Rovers, Mercs that managed to survive through the 60's and 70's into my tender * care in the 80's A couple of Renaults spring to mind ; a 17 Gordini which I scrapped and a 16 TL I bought direct from the first company owner when it was 6 years old. I sold the 16 to my Dad and he ran it from 1984 until about 1995 before it was scrapped- I'd like another 16, just for its complete " otherness". in recent years the only car I get a pang of regret/desire for is a Chrysler 300, of all things. I loved my Dizzler estate one and was gutted when it got written off. Although not enough to get another one afterwards! A couple of years has made me look at them with rose tinted spectacles, it seems. The best fun was when the abs and traction control packed up due to a sensor during a snowy winter, one of my brothers likened the way it drove and behaved to a "Giant mk2 Escort" unbelievably chuckable and controllable - just needed a lot of road. Ironically , considering how many are made to look like Poundshop Bentleys, I don't miss my Turbo R at all and have no desire to own any creaky old Crewe dinasour again. Shep Shepherd
Dan: According to the DVLA, the Volvo is still very much a going concern. Maybe it will find its way back to you one day? danthecapriman
strangeangel
My Renault 16TX. It was never on the road in my stewardship, and was a bit of a rotter if truth be known. But it was all doable, and I would have were it not for a relationship break-up and subsequent house sale. Time and space were both in short supply then, and the poor old thing got bridged. I've always loved the 16, and with the way prices are heading I probably never will own one now. ODH841P wasn't really up to much, but it was a lot better than some that are still out there, and I've always felt bad about sending it to its fate. Zelandeth
Three immediately spring to mind. This one by quite a ways in number one. Worst thing about it is that after I sold it it appears that it was immediately scrapped, presumably some git nicking the engine for a sodding Mini. Such a shame...the one wing had a bit of rust on it, but the underside and the subframes were like new. I'd buy it back in a heartbeat now...was one of those cars which could always without fail put a smile on my face. Then this madcap thing which despite being the size of a postage stamp with a 657cc (very) turbocharged engine and no cargo space did a surprisingly good job of being a daily driver... This is a level for number two spot I think. My Renault 25 Monaco is also up there, not least because if it had come along even a year later I'd just have fixed it without a second thought. TooManyPeopleMovers
For me it has to be my Mitsubishi RVR! Who wouldn't want a 5 speed manual, 2 litre 4wd Mitsubishi Evo* Wagon*!?! (As I understand bits of the driveline on a Mitsubishi RVR come from an Evo, but mine was a naturally aspirated car, so performance though spritely, was not amazing.) Sadly it was a little borked and I needed the money to buy something nicer. Joey spud
Lanciaman
My Lancia Thema 3.0 V6 LX. I've had umpteen Themas and although this had little performance advantage over the n.a. 2.0 16v it was just fabulous all round. Super smooth, quiet and brilliantly put together (yes they could do it). I flew from Glasgow to Paris to get it. Did 30k miles in it in 3 years (and it was off road for winters). Sold to a chap in Japan who sent someone over to check it out! JeeExEll and ProgRocker

KitKat
Hard to say if I particularly regret selling any, as I usually sold them on to make space for something else (regret not buying a few though....) But I guess I wish I'd hung onto this for a bit longer, done the welding and used it for abit. It was poor timing really, as 6 weeks after buying it I got the offer accepted on the house and needed to raise some money. 1.8 RS1800, totally standard. Last I saw it it was up for daft money looking much the same. TooManyPeopleMovers
