Minor Brian Harvey incident getting in the modern, had put it in D to fit my oversize coffee mug in the shitty hipster red bull sized holders of the A1 then noticed the boot was open.

guess who got out walked round and watched the car crawl off towards the skip?

fortunately* handbrake was loosely on so the combined resistance of handbrake and the bulk bag of rubble it drove over ceased forward motion.

Bit of graunching noises heard as I reversed back off the bricks but company car so probably* ok.

All good stories require an element of peril...well how’s this?

I've forgotten to sorn the bloody Sharan so I’ve got to get the car, get to my mates (she’s gonna want an hour to natter at me and catch up) plus get fed and get home in time to find the bloody v5 and hit the DVLA  or it’s another £30 wasted...

I will be at the start of that snake around 17:30...

Am I also imagining the dvla website isn’t 24/7?

Pretty sure it is. I can't actually remember sorning a car late at night but given that that's when I do most of the jobs I've been putting off I'm sure I will have at some point, and I've never been told to piss off and come back tomorrow.

Mobile banking?

Cancel the direct debit and then it shouldn't matter and you can sorn at your leisure.

This may* be the policy being adopted regarding a certain Xantia tonight / very early tomorrow morning.

Quick stop at Maidstone services to explain to the wife I’ve stopped texting her because I’m at the helm of a very important vehicle and not on a train now.

first impressions, solid...the throttle feels solid, the steering feels solid.

There’s no tape for me to stick my adapter in and so adjusting the driver’s mirror brought a youthful flashback and tear to me eye as there’s just the faintest hint of electro interference on the radio as you do it...it’s like coming home from swimming club with dad listening to the cricket on LW in his Mk2 Cavalier L all over again, except more we’ll built.

Cannot make this shit up, missed a turn with all the ruddy roadworks and it stuck me on the m26 or some bollocks.

A one way ticket onthe m25 and and extra 45 minutes on my run.

i was just getting over being annoyed by it and a truck above me on the flyover smashed a pigeon for six and I had to swerve to avoid a double tap of the recently deceased feather bundle.

im currently in clacket Lane services trying to suss our if  there’s a perfectly legal* backroad I can get out on.

bloody Nora!

clacket lane is unspeakably bad. You have my condolences. But yeah, as Vantman says probably best to turn round and go back the way you've come.

That said, clacket lane is at about 5 o'clock on the M25 so if you're headed north then its probably as quick to go clockwise (and saves 2 quid fifty on the dart charge).  if you're going up the M1 then its got to be 50:50 which way you go from here
