Hi everyone, its that guy who lurks all year then posts some poor photos of some old Japanese shite in a field in another country and tries too hard to be funny!

Anyone else think there was an Avenger parked outside Mazdas design department?

Was one heck of a show wasn't it?

For those who feel the photos really needed some Brummie-hinted waffle over the top.

I'd say there were more cars there this year than last.

Less UK cars (the usual Isuzu gang were 2 short) and fewer trade stands. No retro Japanese magazine stand (was banking on some free mags again this year, LOL!)

Watching your vid only reminded me of all the cars I meant to go back and snap! I tried adding a link to it from my flickr but it wasnt having it.

Fav bit of the vid is the clean looking impreza about 8mins 10secs in the background, LOL!

Yes, 565 cars this year I think, which was up on last year. Organisers now have valid concerns about outgrowing the venue.

I love the 120Ys and that Mazda 323 van - never even knew they built one.

Does the ‘CD’ plate on that V8 Cedric (I assume it’s a Cedric) imply Japanese embassy ownership? If the V8s were that rare it might explain how it made it to Holland.

Great to see the photos - that show attracts some incredible stuff. I must go one day, sadly it just doesn't work out at present.

Could be.  The owners english is as good as my dutch but I'm pretty sure he told me it was a Datsun President. Looked like a monster of a thing but it was pretty rotten. Rear no. plate doesnt match the front.

Perhaps I was thinking the V8 cedric is the super rare one, was discussing them with a friend who imports and sells cars. He found one in Seth Efrica and was going to bring it over until the seller found out how rare it was and the price jumped up!

If I'd gone over purely for the show I'd probably mentioned it here 1st to see if anyone wanted to meet up/blag a lift but Mrs. Delux and I turned it into a mini holiday. Being Scottish and hearing of the European heatwave we went out our way to ensure our skin matched the car by the time of the show.

Not planned next years trip yet. Scooby doesnt really fit in anywhere. Its not modified so typical Impreza owners dont bother with it, its too old to be a modern but too new to be classic. Would have loved to have taken something more classic but my Jimny is even newer and there is nothing in the hotrod shop because we plan to move house soon, and my boss has already made it clear I cant borrow the recovery truck to buy the red oxide skyline, LOL!

What's the one with the V8 in it? Also, did you see any Cherry Turbos? I love me some Cherry Turbo.

Kent is the closest bit of the UK to the show!

Last year I went by Euro tunnel. Very quick and hassle free but you will have to drive thru France and Belgium first. France not to bad but Belgium is just one big eurojam! Google maps says its about 2 1/2 hours drive from the tunnel. Closest we got was 6 hours.

Ferry from Harwich was the cheapest and quickest when we booked. Newcastle was nearer but it worked out cheaper for us to drive 400 miles in an impreza turbo, stay in a Premier inn and take the day sailing. Harwich (stenaline) takes you to the Hook of Holland. Sailing is 7 hours, less than Hull or Newcastle sailings. Passes quite quickly, free wifi so I sat on marine-traffic.com looking up the ships we were passing, LOL!

If you book an overnight sailing they expect you to pay for a cabin which adds at least £100 to it.  Might work out cheaper if you booked far in advance or got a groupon. I left it to the last minute as usual.

Took us 2 1/2 hours to drive to Gemert (inc. visit to Burgerking) Straight forward enough, Rotterdam bypass is trickiest bit, Dutchies like their sliproads off sliproads. But everything is well signposted.

Petrol slightly cheaper in NL (for super unleaded anyway) Fags cheapest on boat.

There are links on their website japanclassicsunday.nl with info on where to stay when you are there. Its not really near anything so accomodation prices are pretty cheap. Gemert is about 1/2 an hour from Eindhoven if you are travelling with one of those things that develop whining noises if it doesnt get to a shoe shop or a flock of brats.

"If Carlsberg did spot on replies etc etc"...

Thankyou Sir.

Many, many years back i did an overnight sailing from Sheerness docks but i doubt that route is still running.

I want to take the Subaru Mv pick up rather than the YRV with me.
