Oops, I bought a car by mistake. Anyone want it?

I did this once a few years ago... I bid on a 1992 Mitsubishi Colt... I won by accident with a high bid of £136.

I was told in no uncertain terms by the ex wife that I was not having it as we didn’t have the space. (Even though s few months later she wanted me to buy her a car and we had no more space then... go figure) She got very strident about it.., sadly I gave in and contacted the seller, he was happy to relist it as it had sold way below his desired amount!

I felt rather shit about the whole thing... I’d take a very different approach these days (but that might be in no small part to the change in domestic management situation!)

Anyway... my tale serves to say that we all do it... there will be a way out.

Flip it on. With a full test it’s got to be worth £500.

That's probably what I'll have to do, it's just the bit 8n between, where I have to buy it that's going to be tough. Silly thing to do, I know.

Introducing ShiteCredit - an Autoshite plc subsidiary

Would your bank struggle to lend you a pen?

Have you just bought some grade A rammel on eBay without checking your bank balance?

You need ShiteCredit - shite car finance for shite people!

47477373% APR variable. Your bollocks may be at risk if you buy shite old cars on the worst loan terms imaginable and your Mrs finds out. Terms and conditions apply.

This was the Rover I sent you in your other thread when looking for a car and you said no no no to an automatic.....

To the tune of Amy Winehouse's Rehab:

They showed me a Rover auto

And I said

"No no no".

I'm barely in the black

And if this comes back

You'll know, know, know

I ain't got a dime

But I thought bidding was fine

And now I've won a Rover auto

But I can't go go go......

No divorce involved, not married yet. I'm still married to the previous one! (Who I've incidentally had to spend most of the day with as it was my son's sports day).

We need a credit union for this sort of caper.

Members chip into a fund, shiters in trouble can access the funds, shiters repay at 10% interest.  Profit to be distributed as dividends or donated.  Must be a way we can work it out, we manage the Cryptobus fairly well

No we don't, if you only have £19 to last you a month you should be out delivering pizza's or something, not bidding on fucking ebay :)

This is true, I hope nobody thought this thread was a begging letter, more of an 'oh shit I'm a div', and 'anybody fancy buying a Rover' thread.

Has this resolved itself yet?

There’s a lot of - err - not very helpful stuff being posted, so let’s see if we can’t turn it around.

What’s the sit rep? Do you want it?? Does the vendor want to sell at £385???

Let us know.

Of course I want it, but I'm not in a position to buy until end of month.

The vendor wants to sell at 385, but isn't stressing just yet. I'm playing for time.

I have both the Mazda and Almera up for sale, so maybe a solution that way.

I'm doing what I can to avoid being an ebay twat, but it may come to that. Obviously if anyone on here wants it, I'd even cover 35 quid to make it a straight 350. Only fair as it's my mess up.

Ok man. Don’t go hungry over it. If the seller starts wobbling then let me know.

My missus wouldn't allow that.

She was lovely and understanding about it, but said there's no way it could happen as things stood financially. But if somehow I cleared some funds by shifting another car, then it was all good. She's definitely a keeper.

Since I met her 3 years ago, I've had:

Daihatsu Move

Austin Metro

Lada 1200s

Seat Ibiza (company car)

Dacia Logan (company car)

Nissan Prairie

Rover 416

Daihatsu Move (another one)

Vauxhall Corsa x 2

Mini Cooper

VW Golf

Suzuki Wagon

Toyota Corolla

Rover 218D

BMW 320

Ford Galaxy

Mazda 323

Nissan Almera

And I'm sure I've missed some.

I get the feeling BorniteIdentity wants this. I think a convoluted eBay sale needs to happen where BorniteIdentity goes to buy it instead, arrives at the vendor, coughs, before saying in a suspiciously funny voice:

"Hellooo, my name is Mr TheDoctor. I believe you have a car for me".

"Sure, what's your first name?"

"I don't know"
