I don't know why but over there they really, really like aircon, and you can get almost anything with it from the factory. Rover Minis for example, and Eunos Roadsters even(?!). Ok I admit it I had the air con fixed on my Eunos and yes the garage who did it did think I was weird! It took the garage a while to find me the Jap spec condenser I needed. Ghosty
In that case I'm glad the Eunos I'm viewing on Friday has supposedly working aircon! Six-cylinder

Bucketeer
In October 2017 a very bad man started my obsession with AXs. I had no previous experience of them and was pretty ambivalent about them. Instead of starting me off gently with a gateway drug 1.0 4speed AX this evil peddler sold me his class A Forte 1.1i and I was hooked. Six_cylinder had previously bought it from Bramz (obviously) and before him it had lived, like so many AXs, with an elderly owner for many years. I owned it for many happy months before I experienced a financial crisis which coincided with the MOT running out. I did what any sane person would do when skint with a broken car, I bought more cars whilst my broken one sat in a rented garage. None of them were a patch on the Forte. In the end I was forced to sell up and Sickboy took on the Forte, with a promise that I had first, second, third and fourth dibs if and when he sold it on. He sorted all the MOT niggles and ran it through last winter before a couple of months ago, true to his word, he offered it back to me. The excitement of getting this car back was unbelievable. I had thought about it every day in the intervening months and now it is back snuggled up in my loving bosum it's never leaving me again. I'm on the Isle of Wight which means anything other than on the island incurs ferry costs on top of travel and as it would only be a fun thing because I want to own another, I can't justify the expense at the moment. I'm royally peed off though as there was a green 3 door mk2 in a driveway near to me that looks to have been sat for years and i kept thinking about knocking on the door but didn't and now it's gone. It was a right old hoarder house with lots of old classic cars around on the grounds covered with tarps. The classics are still there but no AX. If one did come up though, I would be sorely tempted even if it needed work. I restore classic cars for a living so body/paintwork is not an issue nor is welding etc. mechanics are simple so no bother either. I had a 11TRE 5 door as my first car and loved it. Unfortunately it got written off but I did replace with a GT and then later a 994cc 4spd 3 door mk2. It was a special edition although I can't remember which but it was pink (not faded red). I think id prefer a mk2. Cheers Ben
Bucketeer
I reckon island life would really suit a sweet MK2 3 door 1.0. One of the special editions that had the mega comfy seats like the Dimension bikelet that is ex- Bramz, Jerzywoking, me, castrosbro, Robinmasters(?), Northern monkey, and many others I'm sure. Loved that thing. Here it is transporting a washing machine across the country. Because AX. The AX sniffer dogs are now on the case for you. Also, Bucketeer Delivery Service is always available for AXs. Mrs6C, The Moog, Ben_O and 2 others

Much appreciated I have actually found a 1.5D on carandclassic in Hampshire wo its close but at £500, its a bit too much for me right now when factoring in ferry etc especially being high season making the ferries triple the price.... There is another up country for £250 that needs welding but is otherwise good. The more I think about it, the more I would like a scruffy one as a project... hmmmmmm That red one in your post with the towing frame has always caught my eye. Something about it. Bamboocarman
Here's mine, the second of two; one of my favourites from approx 2009 to 2012: should have kept it . . . Low mileage, vgc etc, £400 at Birtley car auctions. Full of character, warmth, comfort and simplicity. Spottedlaurel
Other than my grandparents having one for a while, and getting the odd lift in others over the years, I have no significant experience of the AX.
