Ah there we go, poo count 1 for the weekend...

My first Chumley! And it's as amazing as it always looks on the computer screen!

Mr Cats very kindly let me stay at his house last night so at some time past 4pm I departed.

Stopped for pez, food and a slash and came back to this honey (Kidderminster somewhere)

and arrived some time later. We had dinner, drank beer until 12.02 when the Safrane was taxed and went to bed. It was also smoll_catz's birthday

This morning saw us here

And I took some photos

Smoll_floatylight drove impeccably, and we ran ourselves a little errand

I feel in love with 405's

IMG_20190901_192559.thumb.jpg.81d418a5e6fec35d58126a666a9d14f1.jpg

Back to chez_cats for bacon and sausage sarnies, when the power went out, luckily just as everything was cooked enough! By the time we'd eaten and chatted some more and gone outside to empty my stuff out of the 405 3 leccy company vans had turned up at the end of the road so it must have been a big bang.

Then I drove home and inspected my buyages

Rac 12v vac, had to buy at least one hoover this weekend! Upcoming video comparing it to the Black and Decker dustbuster on which it's based coming up!

A paint sprayer from the auto jumble, and a nozzle/fittings kit from the stall by us. To be used for blowing vacs clean on light refurbs. It works OK, but I think could do with a refurb itself

Torx screwdriver set and micro socket set - to keep in the house for vac work so I don't have to keep hunting my big socket set out, and my old torx drivers are too worn to use noe

Thanks to everyone who let me drive cars, we had the place to ourselves by the end!

A+++ would turn up to again!

A fantastic day out, will do again. 420 miles in the 11 and it didn't break, although I feel a bit broken having got up at 4am this morning.  But all the shiters there today were lovely (some new faces to me), so it was worth the effort.

I also want a Renault 4 now, having driven Cleon-Fonte's one.  Bags of charm.

A random pic, I didn't take many.

When working on your Jaguar, always wear appropriate headgear.

CityRover was a crowd pleaser.

Apologies for not knowing who it was, but the young man (on the left of the photograph, as you look at it) deserves a special mention for offering to crawl under  a very hot Jaguar to examine the leaking radiator. Thank you, much appreciated, as with everyone else today.

Brilliant day, I must admit we woke up on Sunday morning having driven from eastern europe the two days before and considered staying in bed, very glad we didn't!

Really nice to meet everyone, both Mrs Task and myself were made to feel very welcome, being the first AS event we have been to, looking forward to the next! Thanks to @loserone for inviting us along and to @brownnova for organising and the ride in the 2CV and to everyone for being friendly.

You are most welcome, Mr. Cav! Pleasure meeting you and it was lovely looking at your fine V12 beast.

Sort of half listened to the owner of the Escort who I think said he wasn't going change it, but may have heard wrong. There were slight kinks in the roof line between front and back doors both sides, suspect it's been lifted with a HIAB at some point. It was magic to see it as it was, just how loads of them looked years ago, when they were worthless and not owned by the wide arch/ringing brigade.

Myself and someone else had a mooch around it in the afternoon and it was far more interesting and lovely than the fully restored ones

Yeah, rather gutted that I just couldn’t make it to the show. Pain was increasing rapidly at breakfast and I knew it wasn’t going to get any betterer and even industrial strength swearing wouldn’t counteract that. Nothing worse that feeling in pain/hyper grumpy when trying to be sociable!

Glad the show was a good one though, judging by the pics - I’m sure that escort was there last year too but as my photos from then have been wiped from my hard drive (long story - don’t ask) I can’t check to be sure.

Well, I’m lying down here at Morose towers feeling miserable so keep the photos coming so I can at least see what I missed!

Sorry you didn't make it but I totally understand, pain is not conducive to socialising!

I've put quite a lot of photos on Facebook, they aren't good, but quantity over quality I think. Chris Meller (profile pic of me in a beany removing a transit engine in the snow)

Would have loved to see that at the meet!

It was originally the intended steed but the indicator switch is playing up and the Explorer landed at just the right time.

Mrs NM is trying to get me to sell it as it gets very little use.

She’s right of course, but I’m finding it very difficult. I sold my green A8 4.2 and immediately regretted it as it was well sorted, as is the W140.

I think I need to sort out the niggly bits and try advertising it for its proper value, then if it does go,  it’ll soften the blow somewhat! ?
