Again saw another 2 shiters today, only just rememberedA fair condition MK 2 Fiesta being driven down the M3.A late MK 4 escort on a H plate, meaning it was one of the last sold. The other day i saw a MK1 Granada Coupe on a flatbed, possibly being raced but it looked too far gone for even that, was so rusty the offside front wing had practically fallen off.

Yesterday I popped out to the supermarket, and whipped my phone out to photograph a Morris Minor waiting at some traffic lights. While I was cocking about turning the flash off (never fire a flash at someone in a car  ) a restored Routemaster bus drove by. Argh. What are the chances of that happening (outside London)?

Have been out and about the last few days on Official Business, so shite-snapping was out of the question :( So I missed, in no particular order, Pugs 205 and 405, derelict A reg Honda CRX, Land Rover 110 CSW with a hole in the bulkhead you could put your fist through, Charade (K reg, but I haven't seen one for years)frogface Scorpio, Citroen BXs, basic diesel and immaculate 'Hurricane', and a couple of derelict looking Carlos Sainz era Celicas in a locked up yard together with a couple of later MR2s. So, it's still out there and that's without looking. :)

But you can't make it look newer with a personalised plate. An X-prefix plate can only be applied to cars that originally had an X or newer reg.It could have been an old personalised plate, I've seen a few like XCJ 215X spaced to make X CJ215 X or something. That would be allowed. Don't some odd little islands use weird-looking registrations that look like UK ones, but aren't? Isle of Man and all that lot. I know Jersey use the Js, what about Gurnsey?

I tell you what plates I'd like to know about, I keep seeing modern cars with black & silver plates, no markings or identifiers from what I can tell, no national stickers or anything to help, just black plates with silver lettering front & rear, they look like they shouldn't be legal - so what's the story? I failed to note whether the cars are RHD or not

I think Guernsey plates are Silver on Black, and just numbers. If they are UK cars, they you are only supposed to have Black on Silver up until 1973. Anything after should be Black on White/Yellow.Nothing to stop people getting "show use only" ones made up.

Oh god, the past week has been hell for missed spots.here we go-2 Nissan BluebirdsRover SD1Triumph 2000 mk2C reg StarletBelmontD reg MKIII GrannyFreight Rover panel vanMKIV Escort estate2 Renault 21 SavannaOld SAABA weird Mitsubushi Estate, one of the late 80s Lancers with that boxy shape. The ex highways agency MKIV escort van continues to tease, always passing but never stopping. And the worst one, whilst i was waiting for the bus i heard a familiar but long gone sound, the sound of a unrefined mid 80s diesel, and smoking past me is a 1985 Sierra MKI 2.3 Diesel.Havent seen one for ages. Oh and a 1986 Audi, i think it was a 90, im not too sure with Audis but it looked identical to a Quattro but was a saloon.I need a better camera.

I keep seeing an Opel Kadett Estate, proper LHD example in NATO green - definitely not "scene" in any way. I suspect it has something to do with the military surplus shop nearby, bet there's an interesting story behind it.

Day off so out to deepest Worcestershire today, unfortunately without camera. :( Parked almost next to very nice original E-reg Senator 3.0, and within half an hour had seen a late Pony X2, Sunnies F and J reg, an unidentified boxy looking chrome-bumpered estate (80's Jap?) and on the truck side a J-reg Scania 113 gully-emptier 8) and one of those MANs that look like the earlier LT, as well as the Scania 93 cattle truck I snapped a couple of months ago, all in everyday use.The Marches are prime shite-spotting territory; there must be a gap in the market for guided tours :)
