angle
Hola chicos! I've just got back from holiday, so to celebrate being able to upload photos from a mobile, let's have a first batch of a spots. Well, I say spots, I was in Cuba so 90% of stuff that's out there you'd take a photo of if you saw it driving down the High Street in Wolverhampton, this is just scratching the surface really. It's mostly a mix of 50s stuff (and not just yanks, albeit nearly all of it cobbled together from wob and Moskvich bits), 70s and 80s Soviets and 90s euro-chod. Stuff I saw but didn't manage to get photos of included a Traction Avant, a few Edsels, a Skoda Felicia convertible (the 50s one), a Hillman Husky, assorted Consuls and Victor's, oh and a Seat Ronda.... First up then, first day spots from Havana. I think the Taunus might be made mostly from tippex. Apologies for the slightly wonky framing on some, a lot of these were taken while holding a recalcitrant toddler. danthecapriman, chodweaver, Lacquer Peel and 10 others

Isaac Hunt
They keep em going over there for sure. I remember seeing a guy on the tV, might have been Top Gear where he fashioned a wing by hand out of an old roof panel using a hammer and a chissel. chodweaver
I think that was top gear - Clarkson also met a guy that made brake fluid out of rum and toenail clippings or somethingSent from my BV6000 using Tapatalk Isaac Hunt
angle
Right then, last few from Havana and then out to Santiago. Yes, someone is rolling round Havana in a Porsche 356. It was also around this time I stopped bothering with photos of Peugeot 404s as I released they were everywhere. Any clue what the thing with the Peugeot 306 lights started out as? Lacquer Peel
I think the car with the 306 rear lights is a Ford Falcon. Great spots, I really want to go to Cuba now.
bigstraight6
Fantastic pics, I’d love to visit Cuba before it’s modernised and ruined. LightBulbFun
bramz7
That is an ace selection of spots. I'd love to go there myself and fill my camera up with photos but my other half hates flying. Oh well.
angle
Right then, on to the centre of the country. A particular favourite from this batch is the Jaguar, the angle of the photo doesn't do the hilarious axle swap (from something Russian, I guess) justice - the track was about six inches narrower than it left the factory with... The engineers at Moskvitch were miffed at being told to copy an existing design, but fortunately an Alpine shell wouldn't fit over the new front wheel drive floor pan they had designed. So they had to design the new body themselves, but to save themselves it looks remarkably like an Alpine, the Ministers favourite... Alpine in black, Aleko in red. angle
...and here's your last lot. The yellow thing was our taxi back to the airport, any ideas? Nine seats, and the only badge was the Chevrolet one on a period correct looking steering wheel. The big Chevrolet is a bus. It was uncomfortable. It also appears you can still get Mk3 Transits in China, which I guess will please some people here. catsinthewelder, puddlethumper, CGSB and 3 others
bigstraight6
These pics are great, I think Cuban mechanics must be the best in the World for the ingenuity and skills of keeping these vehicles mobile..
