Death Row-ver Roffle. Cavcraft, come on down!

Recommended Posts

Posted

With the imminent arrival of my next car, I wondered if the Rover would successfully roffle..

Only one way to find out.

One ticket - £3

Two tickets - £5.00

Three tickets - £7.50

Any more and I'll refer you to a good psychiatrist.

Roffle will not be collected /drawn until my son approves the sale, but you might as well get your names in early.

Rover 218D. No turbo, Lucas pump, 60ish bhp. 210,000 miles. Loads of faults, will list separately. Runs and drives OK though, have been using it daily.

The 'modifications' are removable, and can be taken off before you collect. Roof rack not included.

Fault list.

Noisy on startup. Never fails to start though.

Blowing exhaust. Flexi I think.

Headlining fucked.

Paintwork ruined.

Gearbox very sloppy.

Mirrors are universal replacement ones stuck over cracked ones.

Boot needs slamming to close.

Holes in roof where roof rack was mounted.

Interior not as clean as I'd like.

Leaks a little oil and water, nothing major.

Speakers shit and cd player just jammed in.

Terrible sill repairs, but passed mot like that.

Side trim mostly missing.

I'll edit as I remember more.

Good points.

Reliable. Yes, really.

Mot until Jan 2020.

Economical, I've achieved 50mpg.

Is that a squash racket handle for a gear lever?

This would be great if you’ve got one of these jobs in an office block and all the anodyne boring people you work with all have Audi A3 and buy their garden furniture from Asda. Their faces when you arrive every morning driving this erratically would be a picture. Guaranteed demotion. I love it!

It's an umbrella handle, that was meant to look like a Samurai sword. The umbrella broke.

And yes, I do have an office job, and the car park consists of: Volvo S40, SEAT Leon, Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Corsa and various travelling managers & directors often arrive in their Mercedes / BMW executive company cars too.

What's the current price of scrap?

£3 a ticket, apparently ?

Right. Brake squeak fixed. Generous amounts of copper slip applied.

The vibration on braking has gone away too, wondering if the pads just weren't seated properly....

It's not rusty at all :D

Sod it.

Three randoms for Snagglepuss please.

It’s about time he had a roffle win of his own.

Love this!

3 randoms please

1 for Cavcraft

1 for Purplebargeken

1 for Jim Bell

Don't know any of them personally, makes it funnier to me though.

Would have bought one for gadgetricey for the suggestion but he's in it to win it already

Ok then .

Three additional randoms please,.

1 x Iamgroot, 1x HMC (as he loves Rovers), and 1 x Dollywobbler (as he likes a free Rover)

Now all we need is for the draw to go ahead and they dont' know until Doc contacts them to ask when they want to collect.

In fairness if i win this Womble Jr. who has been badgering me since he passed his test for a car, will be presented with this fabulous fanny magnet and told to photograph the first bird who says yes to going out with him in this.

I will not be driving this.

At all.

Unless Womble Jr. marries the first bird to go in it and you use it as a wedding car!

I've had a few beers, so should I buy a ticket (or two) for this, or PurpleBargeKen's rather nice 45?.

Which would Mrs BMH prefer to win, given we went to look (and were too late) on a Wedgewood blue auto Rover recently?

I'll decide tomorrow.

If I win this then womble juniors dream may also come true!
