wuvvum
I'm collecting a car today. I don't usually do separate collection threads, but it's a bit quiet around here at the moment so I thought I'd give one a go. Hopefully I'm doing it right. I'm not actually setting off just yet - I need to run the 75 in for a test first, and will head out once I've found out how badly it has failed. I believe one of the requirements for such threads is a photograph of one's breakfast: Unimpressive by Scottish standards but, I would submit, still better than the 20 JPS and mug of dishwater favoured by the GGG. wuvvum
They are indeed jen you whine Cheerios. And full fat fresh milk. The car itself isn't particularly fascinating, but it's something I've never owned before and fancied trying for a while, and it might be taking over daily duties for a bit depending on how badly the 75 disgraces itself. The Moog
That's a mountainous breakfast, no fags or coffee so you must be collecting from the south. It's well known they keep you warm Good luck!

wuvvum
Well the 75 has been retrieved from the testing station - it failed on a front drop link (which I knew about) and an exhaust blow, so about as good as it could have been really - I'm going to investigate tomorrow and see if the exhaust is repairable, if so it'll be less than a tenner in bits which I'm well chuffed about, Now going to head in to Norwich to catch a train. Weather is currently a mixture of bright sunshine and comically heavy hail showers, so I hope this beastie I'm buying has decent wipers... HMC
As your at Norwich station, no doubt the train (if going to London) will be calling at shattered dreams parkway; that said hope the collection goes well.
wuvvum
Not going towards London, going t'other way. Currently killing time looking at Britain's most overpowered train. Ohdearme, egg, Broadsword and 4 others

wuvvum
Apparently I now have to change at Peatboghorror rather than Grantham. Good job I checked - would've been right pissed off if I'd been sat on the platform at Grantham and seen my train go hooning past at 125. LightBulbFun
knowing the average price of cars on here and the average price of train tickets in the UK (let alone first class) I think its safe to bet you have spent more on the train journey then however much the actual car costs ProgRocker and Sigmund Fraud
Broadsword
First class on LNER can be excellent value for money. Cheaper than buy the food yourself sometimes!
wuvvum
Indeed. It was £1.90 more than second class - you'd pay more than that just for the salmon sarnie. Broadsword, Aston Martin and purplebargeken
