83C
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present this fine German automobile: A smoll amount of pounds crossed from one hand to another, and I became the owner of a car I’ve wanted for a very long time - an E39. Arguably the best looking 5 Touring ever (the E34 is the better looking saloon), and it has the right engine and box - 6-pot diesel matched to an auto. After an uneventful trip home: M Sport wheel for the win: Naturally there are a few faults, the cosmetics need work. The alternator belt needs replacing as a matter of urgency, and the rear suspension bushes are worn. Updates in my main fleet thread as they happen... GeordieInExile
Magnificent purchase. Always fancied one myself. Swaps for my 9-5 Aero estate when you get bored?
Schaefft
E39 are awesome and everybody should own one at least once. For the rear suspension bushings make sure to get strong (power?) flex poly swing arm bushes specifically for the touring, the diameter for the bolts is a different one compared to the sedan. Also make sure it already had the swirl flaps deleted for engine grenadation avoidance. Jim Bell
sutty2006
I’d love an e39. Infact, I’ve been offered a cheep one in msport variety. Can’t bear to sell the carlton right now but I know it’s the right thing to do. These are the last 5 series that are fairly easy to fix.
