sierraman
Has anyone ever seen one of these in the flesh? For those who don’t know they were a coach built luxury Honda Accord. Did any survive?
angle
Stolen from an old thread on here: I had an old Observer book of cars with one in, that's the sum total of my knowledge. mercrocker, adw1977, scdan4 and 3 others
sierraman
Im amazed they sold any tbh. I do remember reading about 15 years ago in the Telegraph someone wrote in to the ‘Honest John’ page asking what theirs was worth. The burning question I have is did any survive to this day? brownnova
Anyone who found one of these would automatically win Autoshite. I fear they are on the list of impossible dreams however... Alanism
mercrocker
Can't imagine they sold very many.....That convertible picture looks distinctly "artist-enhanced" as well! You would indeed be Autoshite Gold Standard if you found one, although I suspect you could knock up a replica using an office air-con unit and some scrap Ford parts. sierraman
Further research shows they sold 19 of them. So there’s a possibility one might be sat in some old dears garage. Unlike the Lonsdale nothing comes up under Rapport. As a side note cheerfully 4 Lonsdale are still taxed. Where the fuck are they though!!!!!! somewhatfoolish
jonny69
Old Autoshite thread popped up on my search: http://autoshite.com/topic/63-rapport-ritz/ Even then it was considered Autoshite royalty crowning material. Does that O/P suggest there is one surviving?
wuvvum
Bit of a cheek sticking some plastic tat onto a 3-door Accord hatch and calling it an "estate". strangeangel
jonny69
Shitting hell, look at this Range Roller 4WD limo BEAST! Looks like Rapport built some proper high dollar turds! Quite a lot of information about Rapport here. You absolutely have to scroll through this lot: http://www.range-rover-classic.com/Home/land-rover-brochures/range-rover-specials/rapport-ltd---uk Sort of worth copying that page over to here for another online copy. That’s quite an old page and that sort of early webpage stuff often disappears offline. strangeangel, mercrocker, HillmanImp and 2 others
Asimo
Never heard of these before. British attempt at the Mitsuoka Viewt market. Sort of. A lot more ambitious than that recent Aston Martin badged Toyota.

lesapandre
Any sold or left? The ultimate Patsy Stone Jaaag....tv, curtains, cocktail cabinet and coke tables. Love that gold trim. Shep Shepherd
mercrocker
There was this thing as well....Not so much Patsy Stone as Patsy Palmer. Eight and half bags they were, in 1981. About the same as a Granada GLS. They proper fleeced you for the extras, though, Not Cab Black - £95 bought you an Austin colour or three other "Special" shades for £350 extra. Micky-the-Cab in the Arches could have probably blown it over for you for fifty quid.... Additional (read Any) Soundproofing another three hundred sovs. Without tip. Softened Seating with Headroll and Thigh roll (sounds like Cynthia Payne). £800 guv. Before midnight.... It gets silly after that....Air Con £2700 (that's nearly a whole Pug 104) or TV to watch Fred Housego on £1070. All above prices North of the River only. sierraman
The Panther Rio was another attempt to enter a market nobody was interested in. A Triumph Dolomite that was nearly as expensive as an XJS. mercrocker
martc
In the late 70's, when I was a lad, the local toff of Cottingham used to roll in a blue Panther Rio. It was such a frequent sight that I thought they were common until I tried looking for one in other villages/towns. The same as this, but I'm sure 'mine' had a cream interior... anonymous user
I saw one of their stretch Range Rovers at a boot sale a few years ago. It was dripping with faded/outdated bling, such as gold plated bumpers. Had a brief chat with the owner, who admitted to owning another one. The one I saw was a bit of a disappointment when it started up, with clouds of black smoke from its diesel engine.

Timewaster
It’s the shape before that I think.Yes, the Rapport is based on the MK1. My brother had one on a T reg and that only lasted until 1993.He has a talent for buying cars that look nice and shiny but dissolve after two winters and this was no exception.
