purplebargeken
Just advertising this for a friend. 1999 - Dark metallic blue 406 estate, manual. Executive spec which seems to indicate a bit posh, so it has lots of fake French plasti-wood, heated black leather seats, drivers seat has memory settings, lecky windows, good old cassette/radio, lecky sunroof, what appears to be cruise control, tilt/rake adjustable steering wheel, lecky door mirrors, also auto dimming rear view mirror but that appears to have 'bled'. MOT expires in May but he is happy to put another MOT on there (the front O/S tyre looks to be in need of replacement, so that will be done. The alloys look nice. Body looks bloody solid, although there are giffer dings here and there and some scratches but I will try and improve those this week. The worst dent being a small palm-sized ding on the front wing which should be something that could be improved by a gentle push outwards. The seats will get a bit of leather conditioner but there is a worn patch on the drivers bolster. However, the seats have a PBK comfort rating of 9/10. The bonnet has a rust blob on the leading edge, N/S front corner, paintwork on the bonnet looks a bit tired. Can't recall if it has A/C. It will have a good clean and brush up anyway and should be ready to rock and roll. I will check the mileage on Tuesday but the last MOT showed around 124,000 miles. Price with new MOT will be £575 which I think is pretty reasonable for what seems to be a big diesel waftmobile. No tow bar. Location: Enfield. Proper pictures on Tuesday. ruffgeezer, Burnside, Tamworthbay and 4 others

Tamworthbay
I have zero need but would love one of these at some point. Bargain of the year I think. purplebargeken
purplebargeken
Indeed, would polish up nice I think, if the bonnet bugged you then I am sure one could be had on ebay for £notverymuch.
Jazoli
It will have AC, probably Climate. purplebargeken
JayB
Oooo this would be perfect as my V70 failed its MOT last week and I need a car before next weekend - do you know when it'll be MOTd and ready to collect?
purplebargeken
Could be done quickly I imagine. I'm going to be over there on Tuesday afternoon to give the interior a bit of a wipe over with some cleaning fluids. It's mostly dusty and a little muddy here and there. JayB
In which case could I have first dibs? Looking for something ASAP. I had a Xantia Exclusive with the same engine years ago and always fancied trying a 406. purplebargeken
purplebargeken
Forgot to add that it had a new clutch fitted last year too, £600 odd quids worth.

Fat_Pirate
I would like to point out that all estates are now known as ACTIVE CROSSOVERS, so get with it. Yes, even a Morris Minor woody should now be referred to as an ACTIVE CROSSOVER.
purplebargeken
Okay, I can get with that. Active crossover eh, who'd have thunk it.

Uncle Jimmy
I like these, albeit in petroleum form with autobox. After the 306/406 Peugeot went to shit.
purplebargeken
I'd have quite liked this if it was auto tbh.

JayB
What will become of the Volvo? /vultureI've got a bit of work to do on it this week, then I was going to get it re-MOTd and put it up for sale on here. I can PM you some more details if you're interested? purplebargeken and JayB

purplebargeken
Well she is all vacuumed out and much cleaner inside now. Sadly I didn't have the chance to do the outside. Drivers side tyre was done and an MOT obtained. She has a 1/4 of a tank of devils fuel. Heated seats seem to work as well. Mate said that the car drove just lovely. Awaiting collection by Jayb on Thursday. The Moog
purplebargeken
Meant to say that the steering wheel would likely benefit from a cover at some point, that's just me being a bit fussy.

JayB
The 'Big Pug of Waftiness' is now back at Jay B HQ. I drove back in perfect comfort with both the heated seats and air conditioning on. It drives very nicely indeed, I've forgotten how smooth the old HDI engines are (I had a Xantia years ago). purplebargeken, JayB and Jim Bell
