Bought a car last September and got a letter saying it’s reported stolen

It's grief and aggro all round really and very disconcerting for the current recorded keeper.

I would imagine the previous recorded keeper is pulling the buttons of the seat of their chair with the cheeks of their arse. After all. If it is knicked, then they have sold stolen property, even if they didn't know.

Drop a cheap NI plate on it, that will add a twist into the tale whilst the bigger 'system of things' catches up. Sure the DVLA 'pooter' will be up to date but all the records behind it won't.

Drop a set of cheap shite wheels on it cos the tyres are all new and they are yours, wink.

If it is a finance company after it, how much do they think they are going to recover after collection fees and salvage sale etc etc. By the time everyone has taken their cut, can't be much left in it surely.

Do let us know the outcome
