Not sure that this will generate much interest on here, but worth a shot anyway.

As mentioned in my cars thread, I picked this up a month or so ago from the son of its 95 year old owner who had retired from driving.

It had been off the road since last summer, and for the MOT needed a little bit of welding to the nearside sill.  Advisory on offside sill; I haven't tempted fate by removing the cover!  Also has advisories for corrosion on front wishbones and rear 'axle'; these are much more pedantic than I have come to expect from my MOT place.  I've given them a wire brush and a splash of old oil, but really can't see them being a problem for some time.

It seems a bit of an odd spec.  Side skirts, alloy wheels and central locking but no electric windows.  Has covered 89125 miles.  It starts readily and runs well, and the semi-automatic gearbox works as intended (ie changes gear with the alacrity of a sloth).

Bodywork is very tidy and an attractive colour (I;ve no idea what it's called).  Interior is in similar condition, with just a little grubbiness to the driver's seat.

Everything seems to work except the radio, and it even comes with a whopping 1/4 tank of fuel.

Price: £420

Location: 5 miles SE of Wisbech on Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border.  I can collect from Downham Market or March train stations, or Wisbech bus station.

Now I doubt any of you will want to buy it, but you'd probably like to see photos, so here you go

Megabargain, 2 randoms if it goes that way

I've got it advertised for more on Autotrader, but I think the semi-auto will reduce the pool of potential buyers.  Not averse to a roffle, but suspect it would struggle to sell out at £7 per ticket.  I'll give it a couple of days first. but if anyone else want to register roffle interest then please speak up.

Small auto's are very popular, I would expect it to sell quickly if advertised on FB market place or bumtree, that is of course if you can tolerate all the idiots that respond.

How noisy is the timing chain and are there any excessive engine oil leaks?

Pity its so far away.

One random if you decide to raffle.

Timing chain not noisy at all; engine sounds pretty sweet.  No oil leaks that I've noticed.

On Autotrader at £500. I couldn't find a directly comparable example and at the end of the day it's an 18 year old car with a gearbox known for being less than robust, which I have only driven to the MOT and back.

Fair play. I would hope that AT would bring less arsehole buyers than Gumtree etc.

Then filter by sold and your pretty much bang on what they sell for!

Those were all classified ads so no way of telling what they will sell/sold for, but I take your point.  I suspect there's a degree of optimism in those prices!
