LightBulbFun
this Metro which belong to an autoshitter, was amazing, even smelled the part! there was an ant among the grass you know your in the right place when theres a Model 70 engine in corridor to the main collection... more of the corridor line up the AC Acedes Mk11, MoH Model 57 sadly this was the only invalid carriage of any kind they had a C5 I bet sunny days are fun in the trident! a Proper 2 stroke trabbie in fetching Autoshite Pink a umm this thing, which is powered by the same steyr puch flat twin as found in the Model 70 of course theres a Model 70 exhaust hanging from the ceiling why wouldn't there be? has a top speed of 27 Mph in reverse if your Usain bolt "Structural string" sadly the only vintage lighting in the place that I could spot, some nice Atlas super slims here oh and some car... a Lovely Triumph and Metro again next to Modern merc Japanise MGB belonging to an Autoshitter I think? im obviously back now! once more many thanks to SierraMikeHotel for ferrying me about ! GrumpiusMaximus
That was rather good fun, innit? Particularly liked the Sans Permit in proper Autoshite livery. I reckon that could be the staff car. The lady showing us around knew we were all bonkers when she lifted the leather and all the cameras came out... And an arty* shot of some rust. skoda_fan, The Moog, RayMK and 4 others

Vince70
I didn’t know about the event and would of popped along as I was over that neck of the woods today and went for a pint and had the best pub roast ever in the Red Lion in Biddenden. I also popped into Headcorn airfield and saw some lovely Lotus Caterham sevens parked up and then heard the sound of a Merlin and turned round and saw a Spitfire IX taking off also a Percival Proctor and a gyrocopter. Headcorn airfield is a great place for meetings and some real interesting aircraft can be seen coming and going. skoda_fan
Yes many thanks to egg for arranging a fab afternoon, to LBF for his encyclopaedic and genuinely fascinating knowledge of Invacars and to the collection owners for being so welcoming and friendly . I'm just sorry I wasn't there for the start due to OMG traffic chaos on the M20. I arrived as the lady was explaining the Velorex, It made me wish I had donated my example which I owned years ago to this collection instead of selling it. My bro who arrived by pedal power enjoyed it all too. And yes, the Jap Sherpa convertible in LBF's pic is mine; my recently acquired bit of summer fun. inconsistant, egg, GrumpiusMaximus and 2 others
plasticvandan
To fill in a gap lbf might not know, the Acedes in the collection was actually obtained direct from the dhss central stores in around 1997 when they were about to destroy all villiers powered machines and spares, the ICR,then run by famed eastern bloc nutter Julian Nowill gained access and got them to stop until he had contacted museums around the country to see if any would save them, the Hammond collection being one. egg, LightBulbFun, GrumpiusMaximus and 1 other
Spottedlaurel
Looks like a great day out. I was laying slabs all day, seeing stuff like this going on reinforces my view that this is the last year I'm slogging away at stuff on the house every free weekend. Particularly interesting to see the Daihatsu and Suzuki. I wonder if the latter is the one in this shot? Suzuki evaluation cars - Fronte, GX and Van by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Scanned from a 1974 issue of Autocar, so the age is about right and the plate is just a few earlier than this one that the Bubblecar Museum had: 1974 Suzuki Fronte GC by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Which I've always imagined to be the one in the photo. If so, remarkable that two of the three survive. Joey spud, chaseracer, Mrs6C and 2 others
