2000 Freelander 1.8i Lincs £750

Recommended Posts

I know I know, but it has had a head gasket already, and a decent VCU fitted.

Current issues (save for the fact it's a fucking Freelander);

  • Hiss from the servo when the brakes are not applied (replacement part with car, will fit if I get a chance)
  • Driver's seat base worn (good spare supplied)
  • Prop shaft bearings noisy.
  • Tailgate window is an idle bastard.
  • Gear selection occasionally a bit stiff; improved since I replaced the slave cylinder bracket.
Good points;
  • Both keys & remotes present
  • New rear diff torque mounting
  • C/locking now works on all doors
  • Reversing camera & decent CD player with aux in fitted

I've done several thousand miles since buying it and I really don't want to sell it to the stinky horse troll who keeps asking for it, if I wanted that much of a pain in the arse, I'd poke a concrete bollard up my bumhole.

I think it has 3 months MOT left, but I'd be happy to get it retested early to aid sale.

Edit; shitty twilight pictures added.

      Hey y'all,
      This is my project vehicle. A bunch of y'all here will know it.

      Bought for $150 back in 2008. That's actually less than scrap value here. Saved it from being pushed backwards into the bayou by the previous owner.
      It looks like a Renault 9. It kinda is, in a way. It's the bottom of a R11 with the top of a R9 with the back that they came up with over here ad-hoc. The engine's about the same, it's an Espace block, bored out with a crank specific to the engine, and a 1.7 turbo head- to give a capacity of 2.0 litres. Makes the car shift like a scalded cat.
      It's been a slow progression to this point. It's a low budget, low speed rebuild. Rebuilding it to mechanical factory spec. Bodywork is staying factory spec apart from the paint.
      Currently almost ready to go on the road- just have the brakes to rebuild. If y'all want, I have the last five years I can condense with a few pictures

      Copied over from Shite In Miniature...
      Note for future reference...  I've decided most of my Matchbox (-sized) cars can go.  It's a vast collection,   Most have been repainted at least once - by me, obviously.  My eyes and hand aren't good enough to do them again.  I've got way too many to list so ask if there's something you want and if I've got it, we can do a deal.  Most will be 50p each plus postage, so it'll make sense to build up a parcel.
      I thought it best to do this, then I'm not clogging up the main thread.  This could well go on for months.
