I've a soft spot for these. Lovely Sunny Coupe

1650 doesn't seem too bad for a bit of retro japenese cool?

No MOT and was probably lying up for a bit by the looks of it as there's only one MOT on record.  I mean, people are bidding 1100+ for a rotten Ford Onion so maybe the little sunny is worth a look?

I'd imagine that might be a bit underpowered with the little engine and the Quattro gubbins?

It wouldn't be my choice of engine, for this price it doesn't matter too much though. Engine output is similar to the 728i which was alright when I had mine. The weight of the Quattro system is balanced out by the light aluminium body so they are also about the same weight.

I'm.confused it says 1.3 which I assumed would be 1275 A series, but that doesn't look right to me.

Don't these things rot like a BL Mini left in a salt mine for a decade?

As it's been dry stored so must have been moved and cleaned why wouldn't someone lob a battery or jump leads on and try and start it?

Why does that single fact make my piss boil

It's taking the piss.  Presumably for insurance cos the conversion wouldn't have had an engineers report.

This used to be really common in Ireland where the motor tax was CC based until 2008. Bigger engines would be slipped into cars and nowt said about it.  The difference between a 2.0l and a 1.6l could be about 300 euro a year.

Yea if anything like the bigger Fourtrak, ie everywhere; the boot floor, sills, arches, outriggers. Tough as anything if you kept the rust under control.

Be interesting to seem what that makes. Potentially a very nice car but they can hide horrors. There's another super-clean red one that found it's way onto eBay and has been getting relisted for the past few years at around £8000 BIN.

Edit; oh I found an old picture of it:

And have an accident and you could find yourself disowned by your insurer. Could get very nasty indeed.
