Manufacturing tolerances which were wide open.

Ie the opposite of blue printing.

We (my dad) had a 1.6 dangly mirror base model Y reg Sierra estate from new and it must have had that statistically impossible tolerance stack up, which made it rev well.  Once i passed my test, i ragged it around like it was a mk2 escort rally car, But at the same time I had a job where I used the pool car which was a B reg 1.6 ghia hatch, and it was flat. Some of it might have been the extra weight, but i reckon the engine must have been at the other end of the statistically impossible tolerance stack up.

Shocking, and yes unlikely. Sure they still had to get a base line output? In my J reg rover 214i that made about 95bhp on paper.

Yup, it's 90bhp in the base Mondy, and printed on my Resonator (cos early silvertop)

That white Megane has RobT spec written all over it (but ongoing Senator issues)

And as for the 504. Step away from the thread time.

The thing is, that if you say you are putting 1kg of beans in a tin, that needs to be the minimum, so if your method creates variation, you have to put more in everything, to ensure that you are not lying. You can't say, "Well on average we put in 1kg"

You can say "Well we put in 1.12 kg, because the standard deviation is 0.02 and that means only 4 cans in a million will be less than 1kg"

Or you can lie because who checks.

Ask VW about lying to impress customers.

This looks nice. Comes with two tea towels on the back seats, to stop that pesky head grease from ruining the upholstery.

This appallingly photographed spears/reapers 400 Burgman could be a bargain for one of our two-wheeled 'shiters, I reckon. The fault doesn't sound like much, and these are great scooters - quick, comfy, good weather protection, loadsa storage and can run up massive mileages with minimal hassle.

Possibly the first ever 1.6HDi that's fucked at the back and not under the bonnet.

The brothers Cleland have one of those... (predictably) it's a bit broken though.

Never heard of them 'til that listing popped up. Are they some sort of budget Piaggio Ape or something?
