how delicious is this!

the price isn't but if it is the practically brand new car as it sounds, then ok.

and since friggin' escrots are now propper silly money then maybe thats now the going rate for a nice one of these.

Lovely 1964 Triumph Vitesse with a 1600 straight-6.

I've never heard one of these running and can't imagine what they'd be like to drive.

A smooth little short-stroke engine from 55 years ago.

Quite a stunning little car.

Oh, a local lad had that. Think he resprayed it (really) and knocked a few quid profit out of it.

Meanwhile, in Nottingham. He's either dumped that and started cycling home (unlikely) or is about to stop and crack one off in the bushes (likely)

Interesting...

About 15 years ago, my dad had an Astra identical to this, the same spec colour, everything. At the time, he didn’t live far from Nottingham. I know it’s unlikely, but I can’t shake the feeling this might be the same one....

I can count 10 giffer trinkets on the Vitesse, including the radio ariel. They are ok to drive, nippy, plenty of squeaks and shakes because of the construction - they also have an odd fibreboard gearbox tunnel for added fun. Offset steering column I recall. This is an early one with the swing-arm suspension - can be a bit frisky and break away suddenly with sprited cornering. I had one. I would not have another. To me it didn't feel like a car - more a lot of components bolted together.

unsafe at any speed?

unlikely i think. drive it like a twat and no doubt you get into bother, but otherwise i guess these are no worse than any other old motor.

and it looks so,so cool.

even in mark 2 spec....
