cort16
This Maestro must be menstrating as someone seems to be trying to hold an always-ultra onto the front bumper. Why bother, who in their right mind is going to try to ring a 1991 Maestro? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-maestro-/251268091086?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a80beccce

Its a 1275cc? Is that the distant thunder of ill-informed Mini engine rapists? You know it just might be.

cort16
That basically £2500 for a mechanised garden shed. The square wheels fit in so well you barely notice them.

willswitchengage
So it's £1500 with a day left. So what? It's the 300TD (the one you want), is a manual, has sharp bodywork, leather seats, full MOT, everything (apparently) works, veg oil/cherry twin tanks system... Beautiful. Money-no-object car. dollywobbler
On the other hand, 88bhp is nowhere near enough to shift that much car, Merc manuals tend to be horrible and the welding repair to the sill is absolutely horrific... This on the other hand has some va-va-voom about it, though I'm not keen on how it looks like the suspension has collapsed.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130895140105

Spiny Norman
That Sierra has the same 'number of the beast' registration as the one I had for a week before becoming the only car I've ever crashed in 30 years of driving. On a less creepy note, a lovely XJ40 Jaaaaag for 600 bars.
Spiny Norman
I can never get over how quickly these have turned to complete doggy doo in the space of 10 years. New, they sold for the same kind of money as a Nissan 350z or Porsche Boxster and now they can be picked up for a few hundred quid. Apparently these are the ones worth buying, pay well under a grand and just accept that any RX8 will need £3-4k worth of recon engine and buy it ready-fucked and you'll still save over a similarly aged Porker. HillmanImp
just accept that any RX8 will need £3-4k worth of recon engine How difficult is an engine rebuild on one of these? What wears on them? From what I understand from asking about these once before there are only 3 moving parts in the engine. What I also understand is that the MPG will soon make it uneconomical against other similar cars.

You'd think there would be some sort of cheap and cheerful "shite-ist" engine swap from a Datsun Sunny/Ford Escort/Yugo 55 or suchlike that could be shoe-horned into one of these on a Saturday afternoon type of scenario...?
