Twenty years old and no rust ! Two owners from new. Still does 60 to the gallon.
I bought this car 18 months ago from a friend as a 'stop-gap' when my regular vehicle let me down.

Sounds pretty good

I still use it almost on a daily basis but I can not really justify owning more than one car and one van.

Seems like a busy chap

My wife prefers us to keep the Volvo which does 20 something to the gallon, because it 'looks' better. I personally would sooner do 60 to the gallon in an older vehicle.

LOL! I'm warming to the guy.

The Peugeot has only one small dent on the off-side front-wing, which has not even cracked the paint. If I took the inner wheel-arch out to get behind it, it would quite likely 'pop' back out.

Sounds like he's pretty handy with old cars too

I am 71 years old and 'can not be bothered'.

Flamin' 'eck! What a lightweight! I've gone right off him.

Be a kind of go-anywhere Purplebargeken...

Perhaps not quite 'go-anywhere'. At least you could bump a wheely bin out the way without cracking your side lights.

Front split bench - so three in the front, three in the rear and two rear facing seats in the back.

What those yerpeenz simply can't imagine, is that you can put 8 peoples into that thing, and they can still remain strangers.

This works even better with a Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon, which at the same time enables you, to just not blend into traffic.

I was going to say this looks like it was stored down that salt mine full of Mavericks but it's a Cortina so this was probably the result of it being stored in a dry heated garage for the last 10 years. I imagine the 2.0 pinto and that slush box is a pretty woeful combination.

Roman bronze, if I'm not mistaken.

I had a Mk5 ('Cortina 80's') 2.0 automatic that wasn't too bad to drive to be fair. It was the first auto I'd ever owned, hated it at first then grew to love it, even after it shit it's box not long after spending Greece's national debt getting it through an MOT.

My ideal Cortina would be either a 2.3S manual, or a Roman Bronze 2.3 Ghia automatic estate.

I had a 2.3 v6 auto and it was grim. Nice engine but the box was hopeless. It always managed to do exactly the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time.

If I didn't have the 405, I reckon this would probably be near the top of my list

£158 start, he had it on not so long back for £200 or something and never got a bid.

These super car kit cars are usually hopless shite based on a  wheezy 1.9 z3 or 2.0 ford cougar but I'm giving this Diablo 7 out of 10 for effort. Even if it is 40 grand they at least fitted a v12 engine even if it is from a BMW.
