Look, it's a Ghia Si!

it was running when parked up so I see no reason why it will not start with some petrol and a jump start.

It will not start because I am not getting into that cabin to insert the key.  It looks like if the airbag went off a tree would come out.

'she has never let me down'

'New clutch. Exhaust. 2 rear discs and pads. Front pads. New bushes on steering.'

None of which let him down, of course

'I have sealed up the sunroof as they all leak, this doesn't.'

Fantastic.

So you think a car has let you down when normal service items need to be replaced?  Yeah okay then.

COR BLIMEY - FEAST YOUR EYES ON THIS!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Passat-b1-1974-classic-not-Jetta-Golf-Scirocco-mk1-mk2-LHD-very-rare-/252346488375?hash=item3ac105d637:g:NpUAAOSwsN9XBW3P

Hardly any useful info in the ad, just a cut and paste Wiki entry for pointless bulk. It does look a beauty though, but I can already imagine some 37 year old bloke with a woolly hat and a skateboard ordering up coilovers and that...

For a tiny picosecond I thought that was a Gol.

A Gol is one VW I would like to own.

Whats the big bumper for, is it weight for towing?

Yes, I briefly drive a recovery truck almost the same as this for a Ford dealership in the nineties. Even then it was seriously undersized for what it might have to pull. Even an escort on the back would have the front of the truck seemingly floating, lightening up the non assisted steering no end!

THIS CAR HAS A FEW AGE RELATED MARKS

I'm sure it wasn't just the passage of time that caused the dents. Still - nice early-face Synergie with a bit of test for not a lot.

I can only assume the photo has been carefully framed this way because that elastic band is included in the sale. No other reason to show us an otherwise empty expanse of tarmac surely?

An eBay veteran here from LOLs gone by. Now 99p with no reserve, but even then I reckon this is not the last we'll see of it.

Flipping unbelievable!

The Sunbird is VERY much what GM called the J type. Which was the "first" global platform. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_J_platform If you look closely you can see mk2 cavalier door handles.

so fitting a small block astra engine is amusing.

I am now the highest bidder. Shit. Retracted that. Thank fuck.
