They're not 'trading on former glories' at all. TBH, most Sixties Mustangs are hopeless, gutless posing pouches as standard, that don't go, steer, or stop; their saving grace is that, thanks to decades of accumulated knowledge, they can be made to go and handle very well indeed. I had a V6 Fox Mustang 20-odd years ago and that didn't really steer or stop either, but it went OK and sounded nice and definitely a lot less of an insult to the name than the '70s Mustang II, or that dreadful electric SUV thing they make now. I meant it was only standard on Connoisseur SE. It's a shame it seems quite rare on the others. The non-SE Connoisseurs briefly lost their leather trim after the facelift - it was later reinstated for the final cars. I only found this out when I bought (sight unseen) a 2004 Connie with a beige interior hoping to nick the rear seat squab for mine, only to find out that it had velour. This might have applied to other equipment as well. horriblemercedes

83C
Browsing ebay to get a feel for the rough value of my Fabia, I stumbled on this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404162301427?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=dowj7a2drus&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=T9jP0R8YRhO&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Quote Skoda Fabia VRS 1.9tdi, 2006, 131k, new front pads and discs, new exhaust, new front spring and top mount. Extremely quick potentially been chipped but don't have proof. Bought the car to put on the road myself but don't have the time for it. Great project car but not a rolls Royce. The interior is in fair condition but needs a good valet. Dent on the offside rear panel. Back brakes binding where it has been stood. Electric front windows need attention. Few bits and pieces but nothing serious. A few of the usual excuses there. No mention of an MoT though. Wonder why? Date tested 7 March 2022 FAIL Repair immediately (major defects): Nearside Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (3.4 (b) (ii)) Offside Front Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect (4.1.2 (c)) Nearside Front Headlamp aim too high (4.1.2 (a)) Nearside Front Headlamp levelling device inoperative (4.1.5 (a)) Nearside Rear Service brake excessively binding (1.2.1 (f)) Offside Rear Service brake excessively binding (1.2.1 (f)) Nearside Front Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot split or insecure, no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (6.1.7 (g) (ii)) Nearside Front Anti-roll bar ball joint dust cover no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (5.3.4 (b) (ii)) Parking brake efficiency below requirements (1.4.2 (a) (i)) MoT expired in December 2020, so it's been off the road over two years and to be honest, that list doesn't look horrendous. Wipers, polish the headlamps, at worst a pair of rear calipers, a CV boot and a pair of ARB links. Why not just be straight up about it?
