To be fair, this £25k replica looks identical* to the real thing.

I've just been to Slovakia and these are still everywhere. I now have quite a hankering for one.

Cool, I'll be passing through Bratislava in March, I'll have my camera at the ready.

I'd like a pre-facelift 1.3 with PAS.

I think you'll find that's a bit of a holy grail. The pre facelifts do look so much better but even the L&K and Bohemia special editions which were loaded with all the other extras didn't come with power steering unless you paid for it. I think they just didn't think it was necessary. Its easy enough to fit if you have the parts though of course the scrapyards aren't exactly full of them, we're about ten years too late for that.

I do like the power steering though as it is higher geared so just makes the car a bit more chuckable. It's wierd as I have one Favorit with and one without and if I haven't driven either one for a few days I get back in and think how much nicer this feels than the other one, whichever way round it is. That makes no sense I realise, but some things just dont.

Did you notice how many Fiat Marea's are also still being driven there?

Still shown as a 200cc with DVLA. If the engine swap was declared, I presume it would fall foul of some DVLA rule?

Car Drove all the way from Maureen in Great Yarmouth, before her the car had one owner who also lived in Great Yarmouth... Never been to Yarmouth and I can guarantee the tourist board of Great Yarmouth that I'm never ever going to trouble their holidaymakers scorers either if this is the outcome of buying cars in that seaside town!

Is that Maureen in the background?

The car is being sold completely without any warranty, this is not to deny you your rights oh no I dont want you to buy it and then realise 6 weeks later its a bag of shit and then think oh I know I will sue the old git who sold it to me!

Looks nice enough, I presume it's Royal Blue, it looks black to my admittedly substandard eyes (I'm a bit colourblind) but it says blue in the ad and black was never an option. Either way it looks great with that red interior. New carpets too.

But it has the all too common plates over suspension turret.

And this wing looks suspect. It is either very neatly seamwelded or that's some sort of seam sealer painted over.

Either way it's not spot welded as it should be so I would going over the whole inner wing and front of sill area very carefully. If it has been seem welded that's fine, it would be stronger than the original. Triumph (and everyone else to be fair) only spot welded it because it was cheaper. £3500 seems a lot to me but then I'm still living in the 1990s and I'm sure it's a lot better value than a lot of stuff out there presuming it has been done well.

If someone wants to steal my identity I'd be interested to see what they could do with my life because I'm too lazy to do half the stuff I could do.

I'd be tempted to buy that just so I could I could eradicate the cream band and gold letters. If I won the euro lottery or somehow became one of these Silicon Valley billionaires I would make it my mission to buy every RM with a cream band and gold fleet names and bring them kicking and screaming in to the 1980s.

To be fair to the sellers they do own my other bus RM 2213 and have restored it in 80s style and they seem like top blokes who know what they are doing and I would happily buy a bus from them. Seems they are downsizing or more which seems a shame.

Here is RM 2213 last Christmas (that is 2021) looking so much smarter with white stripe and roundels. The Christmas lights help too.

Cars are in my blood. I think it's because of my grandad. He had old Jags: 120s, 140s... and I think he had an E-type, an old Alfa Romeo Spider and Fiats.

He also had a Bristol, and now so do I. It might not be pretty, but I love the Eighties styling. I used to go past Bristol's showroom in Kensington and I'd steam up the windows looking in. I love the Brigand's lines. In a way, it's quite ugly, especially at the back - it reminds me of the BMW 3.0 CSi, which was made in the Seventies - but I like that massive back windscreen. Then it's got the long bonnet, the line of the old Ford Cortina. So it's just like my idea of perfection. I sit in the front room and look out of the window at my car. I've been all over the country in it already.

It's quite a good cruiser, quick with a massive engine - it's 5.8 litres. I only took delivery of it three months ago. It's been three weeks since I last drove it, so I really have to take it out for a spin, even if it is just to run up to Hampstead to get a coffee!

If it cranks then fires (but doesn't start) when you let the key go to the run position check the distributor. If the seal fails oil will cause problems like this. Many of these went to the scrappy because this fault isn't obvious.

I’d love it. It used to be serviced in my village. Watch listed.
