Cheap IMA Civic which isn't charging its main battery.  I assume it's not just a standard alternator on these?

Something weird on these iirc, they're mild hybrids.

If one of these is that cheap, it's fucked, they REALLY hold their money. They're usually 3-4k.

The 12v battery is charged by a DC-DC converter so no conventional alternator.

For other reasons to avaoid, see this recent thread:

Always loved this gen Accord. With an auto and exhaust someone messed with even 750 quid could be too much though.

I do too. There's been a recent spate of the facelift version (2000ish) in 2.3 V-spec auto flavour, extremely tempting. However the driveway trader gang seems to think they're worth £2500 rather than the £900 they're actually worth.

Easy £10K - they're priced at silly money (which is maybe why my wife has always fancied one?). Instead she got a Cherokee (KJ) with the same Italian diesel in it - not a bad car to be honest, put you back around £2K these days for one of those and just as much use as the Wanker

You can build a mains charger using LED drivers. As long as none of the cells are physically damaged then you can limp some life out of them through mains charging. Using a bulb or big resistor you can discharge the pack before charging, doing this over a few cycles apparently helps balance the pack if there’s weak cells. My 22 year old pack in the Insight is being kept alive this way, as when left unused too long it sinks into a state of charge where the battery controller refuses to charge the pack. Obviously it’s just delaying the inevitable, but it’s still perfectly workable.

Jag alert in Southam, @Cluffy

1998 XJR in need of recommissioning. £3450

I am more taken by this in the advert: Any inspection welcome, we have a dry workshop and jacks and inspection lamps available.

Can I leave the Jag and just have the dry workshop and inspection lamps please?

It wasn’t long ago these were this much in excellent condition. Still, 85k isn’t a lot. Mrs C has been saying I should have an auto... Might not be quite what she had in mind....?

I’m rather taken by their Lemon XJS-C as well. Glorious.

Always looked to me like one of those lip filler jobs that go wrong [Leslie Ash]  (they also qualify as eBay tat as that's where they came from - not the car, just the missus labia seats). The front ones are just as tasteful* but, as they came out of the original Bini (R50 or so) they are much more comfortable than the base model R55/R56 that were in hers when it arrived. I can live with 'em.

KTM Comet 50RS Grand Prix Sports moped 1976 with pedals beats Yamaha FS1e | eBay

A really half-arsed internet search suggests these will do 50mph. So about half the speed of anyone who had an FS1E or AP50 back in the day told you theirs did.

Good luck to anyone who lives until they're 157 to find out.
