lesapandre
Who'd a thought thirty years ago we'd all be sittin' here drinking Chateau de Chassilier wine? Aye. In them days, we'd a' been glad to have the price of a Yorkshire Jowett Jupiter... An old Jowett Jupiter... Without bumpers... Or seats... With a filthy, rusted scuttle... We never used to even have a hood. We used to have to drive round with the rain coming in... The best we could manage was huddle inside... But you know, we were happy in those days, though we were poor! Because we were poor. My old Dad used to say to me, 'Money doesn't buy you much Jowett Jupiter! E' was right. I was happier then and I had NOTHIN'. We used to drive in this old Jowett, with no windscreen. Windscreen? You were lucky to have a hole! We used to drive round in one, all twenty-six of us, no seats. Half the floor was missing; we were all huddled together in one corner for fear of falling! You were lucky to drive! We used to have no steering wheel. We used to dream of no steering wheel. Woulda' been a amazing to us. Twenty of us used to drive in an old Jowett with no windscreen, no hood, no seats, no trim, no steering wheel, a hole in the floor, a rusty scuttle, and a dashboard made out of an old plank. But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'. Rust Collector
That's really cool. Starting bid of £100 as well, got to be worth a cheeky low ball just in case nobody else wants to sit on it for another 15 years avoiding starting the project. Having a Google after seeing the pic you posted but not being able to see the reg, I found this pic: It shows as registered around the right time, keeper change in 2019. It would be cool if it is indeed that one. I'm incredibly tempted to have a cheeky bid on it even though it's not at all what I need right now, I've already got too many stalled projects. But it just has that allure of a majestic* unicorn. 6 minutes ago, MiniMinorMk3 said: If anything is missing it will be a nightmare to find. N57 however is a liability (fuel pumps and snapped timing chains are the big ones) Naturally enough, these can have problems (gearbox and turbos), but the engine itself is very tough

I re-read the advert and yes it's an M57. Why did BMW have to make it so confusing? How would 'box trouble manifest itself? It has a module that needs 'coding' to the car to make park sensor, tailgate work. What is the deal with this, do I need £1000 specialist equipment or £100 and a laptop?
