1958 VW Beetle

"factory standard model"

"Please note that no engine comes with the car"

"Key points:

  • LHD
  • 4in narrowed beam
  • CB Front disc brakes
  • Pro comp gearbox
  • 60% Berg shifter
  • Race axles
  • 12 volt conversion (note the semaphores have never worked)
  • Beard seats
  • Rear seat trimmed by Bernard Newbury in fat biscuit style
  • AutoMeter Sport-Comp Monster Shift-Lite Tachometer
  • Not shown or fitted but I have the matching grey tunnel rubber (new)."

"Standard models are very rare in the UK and this is a great example" 🤔

By standard they are referring to the model which came without the chrome trim, fuel gauge etc. of a Deluxe which are much more common in the UK.

I’m not an expert on Beetles , but I’m sure “factory standard” included an engine.

'IF THIS WAS A TRANSIT IN THIS CONDITION IT WOULD BE WORTH £5000 PLUS.'

Sadly, they don't say plus what. I would hazard a guess at £4,300's worth of Class A in the glove box.

 and will do 100mph 💩

If this was going to be sold in the summer months it would be worth £1,000 more 🤣

6 days left bidding at £510.

Death on three wheels, as queen didn’t sing. Not sure how you get twin carbs on a 2cv?

Battery is old so she only does 20-25 miles at 60-70mph, or 30-35 miles at 30-50mph

We have been using her to travel from home in Town A to Town B (15 miles) and Town C (20 miles). 30 mile round trip to Town A without a charge on slow coastal road. We charge in Town C to get back home in Town A.

wait, wait. I can do this, hang on. I think the answer is... uh, three hours to travel to town C. Is that right?
