Pov-ish spec Fabia. Base spec engine and trim, but ASR. Odd. 65k miles. £990. 'Timing Chain Rattle' - normal for these fuckers.

67bhp, £265 tax and 39mpg combined... Wtf! how did they manage to fuck that one up so badly!? wasn't the idea of a city car to sacrifice performance for economy, but they seem to have managed to sacrifice both with the 1.4 8v! I knew they were bad, but not that bad!

Old engine from the Felicia dragged kicking and screaming to Euro 3/4 (?) spec and failed miserably. Apparently quite decent torque for a piddly wee piece of crap. The 1.2 engines were designed with the Fabia in mind as a replacement for the 1.4 OHV 8v.

Oh yeah, OHV as well, can imagine that sounds lovely at high revs!

V6 Laguna, lowish mileage but...

Quote

Timing Belt -
Not having any service history, I managed to get into contact with another previous owner of the car (3rd hand), and was told it hasn't been changed. There are kits sold online starting from around £250 if this is something you want to renew.

During the ownership of that PO, or never changed at all?

Nice enough car, but....

Wooly bullshit translator:

"Has only done 10k miles since 2007"

Meaning:

"Hasn't had a service since 2007" - isn't due for one m8

At least they're upfront about the cambelt. And £280 from ECP for a cambelt kit. 'kinell!

Lovely-looking 800 Coupe, with a V6 to boot.

Less lovely-looking is the MOT fail sheet...

No photo description available.

Photos look suspiciously not recent, but that fail doesn't sound awful. Is the sexy coupe styling and V6 noise worth £675 and a welding marathon to me... Hmmmm.... :)

SOMEBODY SAVE THIS!

Not that easy to tell but from the limited pics it doesn't look too bad, and the interior is great. 55k on the clock. Catford, £350. Really deserves a second chance.

Why don't you save it? To busy bathing your goldfish?

Lost count how many cars I've saved Inc from scrap yards over the years ,& returned to the road.

I LOL'd when I first saw that, but having read the advert it now just seems overpriced rather than laughable.  For one thing it's a 123E which are rarer and more desirable than a 105E, and for another thing there can't be many one-owner cars of that age left.

I don't have £350 to buy it, any way to transport it, anywhere to put it or even the most basic skills to fix a car, let alone recommission one that's been off the road for ages. Apart from that I'd be the perfect custodian. Just thought I'd flag up a rare car that's in danger of being broken up in case any other Shiter was tempted but hey ho, won't make that mistake in future *shrugs*
