That's one way of making an estate version on the cheap!  @RichardK if you ever find yours is short of boot space...

There are loads of those online - very neat solution!

Also now I know which way around the battery goes and an 063 is wrong, I thought so, terminals are the wrong way around!

LPG conversion is interesting.

Cyprus, Ireland and Malta get RHD Opels. Maybe others too that I've forgotten. I'd say that's just an Irish one that has ended up in the UK - that was very common, especially before Ireland switch from miles to kilometres (around 2005, I think?)

Interestingly JLR did identify a niche in 'organic' alternatives to leather, figuring that there are probably vegetarians who would object to cow skin. I can't remember what they called the alternative, or even what it looked like. Does anyone know?

It’s called “vegan leather” which is peak-marketing for what’s actually a similar polyurethane to what Ford used in the 1970s👍

‘Vegan’ is a useful term that enables  cynical manufacturers to sell people plastic without calling it plastic.
Plant based vegan leathers are also available btw. Pinatex from left over pineapple plant fibres post harvest and apple leather made from the solid remains of apples after pulping for apple juice for example.

Ford Taunus (Cortina ) 1980 Location Spain 3000€

Reads as if a lot of spares are included and they could have been a recent engine rebuild. The documentation shown in the advert confirms this is a 2.0 litre rather than the 2.3 badge on the boot.

I recently pointed out to one of my vegan friends, after they posted that we shouldn't eat animals because they feel pain, that plants also feel pain.

Yes, we are still friends.

I admit there are different standards of leather just as there are cloth but I don't think any of them can beat a good cloth for comfort or appearance.

All these examples were available with leather, probably at extra cost.

Mercedes W123.

Volvo 240. I think the 740 had similar.

Vauxhall were the Kings of 80s velour.

But the overall winner is the Fiat 130 coupe.

Tell me you'd rather have leather over these and I won't believe you.

That W123 velour cost the same as leather in 1982, from memory it was about £800 over the basic half cloth half plastic.Full MB-Tex was £250 extra. Incidentally the so called leather or Artico in modern Mercs is basically MB-Tex, as far as I can see.
