oof.  I am always tempted when Avantimes come up for sale. that one looks great

Read the description. Starts off sadly and sweetly...

Ends on a very different note - so if you are a ****, **** or **** be careful.

He's also not a Star Trek fan...so be ready to say: "beam me up Scotty" if rumbled as a ****, **** or ****.

Here is a "1975" Range Rover with 5 doors, a facelift grille, Vogue alloys and a later interior.  I'm sure* it's totally legit though.

s-l1600.jpg

DVLA has it down as a 3.8l diesel.

"Date of last V5C (logbook) issued 1 September 2017" whatever that means.

But its not cosher - they are no 1975 4-drs?

It's clearly not a Panther, Overfinch or Crayford conversion or prototype and is so blatently not what it says - you'd be rumbled and stand to get it impounded?

An early one too being on a K plate.

You don’t get many opportunities to be more beige than me. This is definitely one of them though. Has someone bought it yet?

On a Maestro tip, here's a 1600 MG that's apparently OK but unfinished. £5500 Fanbeltborough.

I am on the lookout for a 2.0 EFI as my Dad had one and it would scratch a sentimental itch, particularly if it was red with a "sunshine" roof.

This one, however, has the talking dash, which has a 16.49% chance of still working.

I have exactly the same itch. My dad had a 1985 2.0efi in moonraker blue, b144wyg.  It got nicked and kindly they drove it most of the way to our house before dumping it on a school field.  Loved that car

What a nice earner £500 in less than 4 days. Camt wait to see it painted yellow with a sheepskin jacketed driver at the wheel.

That's making bacon mama

@MisterH - I think this will appeal to you. :)

Well this appeared on one of the B2 FB pages the other day, people were saying they should be asking for more, but being an auto it is probably worth little, and the rust on that A-Pillar is unsettling. Nice colour tho same as mine

Always thought these early ones looked ace, did they actually drive as bad as everyone said?

I had an early 1660 MG I thought it was quite good. I felt it was better than the Escort and the Golf. 0-60 in a round 9.5 secs It was no slouch.

However, the VW gearbox was not very positive I could never get on with it.  I never had stating issues. As I purchased this when 6 months old from a Renault dealer I took the  straight to the main dealer to have the jets sorted out. Austin issued a kit and it was installed free of charge.  The talking dash was a novelty which wore off. I did like the digital dash.

Spares for the engine may be an issue these days

Hmmmmmm I suspect it could be a ringer.....

Never heard of a 4 door 75 model.

Oh yeah the front end photos are different as well. Not that it would make much difference. But it just looks a bit strange.

Also - Whats up with the MOT history.

Something stinks lol

EDIT: Dodgy As F....... That guy has weird ebay feedback!

That is interesting, the quattro's talking dash has always been a quirk, amusing but not very helpful, but it is part of the character

Dad's was a B reg as well, somewhere I have a photo of my half brother and sister poking out if the sunroof with it parked on their drive.

Not sure if the sunroof was an option or not?

I remember thinking the interior was really cool (red seat belts) and it sounded ace too, really throaty.

His mate had a 1.3 HLE with the 'econometer' and he hated it.

I don't imagine he was too chipper when he paid four grand for someone to paint a picture of Ryman wearing  a 2 year old's patent Clarke's wellies riding a fucking three eared horse, tbh.
