Typical 1.4 MPI HG failure - low mileage and more than average rust. Tempting, but would need to fix it before I drive it home from Huddersfield since I don't have the means for towing. It's Weegie registered with Parks ae Hamilton too.

Cracker of a Sierra. Why was the 2.0 twin cam so hated at the time?

Google it. It was shite and blew a lot thanks to under development by ford.

When new, I remember the Twin Cam feeling smoother and faster than thePinto , this was usually in Granadas. I head a few Sierras when 5-10 years old and only ever had one head gasket go. Even then it was still running fine , just using a lot of water and showed up on one of those bubble analyser things. I just swapped the engine for a low mileage one, took half a day including looking for spanner’s etc- and I’m the Worlds worst mechanic.
My Mrs had a beautiful 2.0 GLSi hatch on a J that when we picked up my brother’s first Sapphire Cossie, actually pulled away from it up to to 120 ish- but then what do you expect from £2000 Cosworths- that ended up with 300 bhp supposedly, then got nicked!

It is a 2.0HLS so quite posh.

That's a pretty honest ad.  With Ambassadors, it's completeness that's key. Rot can be dealt with, but Ambassador specific things like trim and all the front sheet metal are very hard to get hold of.  2ltr twin carb with power steering is a nice spec for one of these, and if it does have good displacers, it's worth getting just for that.  I'm tempted, but I don't have dry storage for it which it really does need to stop it getting worse.  New windscreens are still available from Pilkingtons.

I don't like those wheels on it, but it looks nice otherwise. :)

Ford Fiesta Mazda 121 with a b0rked ignition barrel. How on earth do you break an ignition barrel just by putting the wrong key in? Was the ignition made of cheese? Was the incorrect key inserted using a hammer?  I dunno. It's £500 either way...

Slightly more interesting* than the equivalent Fiesta, if only for the curio value of Mazda badged cars coming out of Dagenham. Unfortunately fitted with the wheeziest of the engines. Not sure if all the 121s had this or whether Mazda offered the 1.25/1.4 as well.

Ignition barrel easy to change but ECU needs original key chip to disable immobilizer. Do-able but faffy especially if it's rusty which it probably is
