eBay tat volume 3.

This looks great. If I didn't already have my TD I'd be on a plane.

Nearly a year's MOT, not too bad a test history and an honest advert. No service history but you don't need it with a Cav, there's nothing to go wrong.

In London so cheap and easy to get to from anywhere.

ULEZ victim.

Random AS pop quiz question: what was the last car sold in the UK with pop up headlights?

Whilst technically, the C5 was sold in the UK if you imported one, I don't believe it was ever sold as a UK car - LHD only import.

If we're playing that game, then theoretically you can still buy a car with pop-up lights that meets legalities (but not in California apparently)

https://www.aresdesign.com/en-us/cars/panther-progettouno/

It's a copy of the 1970s Pantera.

So.... the last car I believe to be sold in the UK as a UK car was a Lotus Esprit v8, of which 1 was registered in 2004 (according to HowManyLeft)

I'd love to pretend I knew all that, but I didn't. I'm quoting from this place  and being a smart arse. So please do prove me wrong.

Corvette C5 was officially imported and sold in GB for a few years via a few GM dealers. I think it was sold as a Corvette, rather than a Chevrolet Corvette. Discontinued here in 2002 so unless one took 3years to sell, Lotus wins.

Some posts, can be read with adenoids :-) “I think you’ll find”. I love the general car knowledge base here.

History
Started life as 1967 Fulvia Coupe. In the late 1970s/80s the owner decided that with a growing family he required rather more interior room than the Coupe body provided. He took the roof section and rear hatch from a Citroen GS Estate and carefully grafted them onto the Fulvia body. Fortunately the dimensions and shape of the Citroen parts proved to be a very close match for the Lancia body allowing the conversion to proceed with the resulting car retaining a measure of elegance alongside enhanced practicality. The least successful part of the conversion was the side window glazing, which rather spoils the profile, but if the car were to be rebuilt it would be possible to develop a more sophisticated side window arrangement .The resulting car was used as the family car in throughout 1980s finally being taken off the road in the early 1990s for some restoration. At some point the car was then partially dismantled, the floor pan was welded but the rest of the restoration never proceeded and the car remained in storage with the orioginal owner until i purchased it about 2/3 years ago. The last two pictures in the gallery show the vehicle as it was c. 1987 at a Lancia Club meeting

The owner of this was dedicated. Building his own Lancia shooting brake and using it regularly for well over a decade, instead of just trading it in for a factory built estate car!

This reminds me of that barmy 1.6 Zetec-engined Vivaro (or clone) on the eBay tat thread.

So much effort! So little gain!

Well, it's clearly one of those answers that are "open to interpretation". You can move the definitions around as much as you like, to get the answer you like.

FWIW I think you're all right...  xD

Let me show my reasoning!

The Pantera copy isn't a "new" design per-se, but a reworking of an early 1970s one (arguably a late 1960s one given it debuted in March 1970, and factoring in the time it takes to develop and manufacture something like this).

The Esprit and Corvette both had production runs from 1996 to 2004, so while the Esprit might have the de facto last registration of a car with pop-up lights, you could argue the Corvette was also still available.

The really nit-picky answer would be "probably some half-dead MX-5 that sold 30 seconds ago on Craigslist/Gumtree/ebay/Auto Trader. After all, the question didn't specify it had to be a car being sold new...  >;D

VTEC-yo Accord spurs and replies, but still £2k. Brum

I had a lot of fun in one of these once, but I remember being pissed off it demanded 98RONs. Looks like it now runs on 10W40

Think @Tubbo was looking for one of these. It's near me (Hinckley) but I don't know anything else about it other than price is currently £103 but with ages to run. 62k apparently
