Marketplace - 1977 Triumph Dolomite restoration 1500cc, £600. Bishops Stortford

"Stood up for 16 years in dry storage. Will require welding and a clutch, car does start and engine runs. Will need trailering away as is not road worthy. I inherited the car from my uncle  and just need the space so is up for sale."

Bonus Fiat 124 Coupe in the background too.

Same as mine but looks a lot more modern with the alloy wheels.

Reg number K285 XPP given on the Ebay ad is wrong, I spotted it when it said it had 94 bhp according to Total Car Check! DVLA looks right why the discrepancy? @LightBulbFun

P1240677 broad.jpg

just external 3rd party tools getting a bit confused as to what the vehicle is

its trying to second guess what it is, it obviously knows Peugeot is but it then falls flat on its face when it tries and decode the rest of the info so it thinks its some sort of Chassis cab van for some reason

I have seen all sorts of whacky  results returned by these 3rd party checkers when you feed them something off beat  :)

but the reg seems fine to me otherwise, other 3rd party tools do correctly report K285XPP as a Moped etc (and also the other vehicles around it are Mopeds)

as a side note interestingly K288XPP is an Aprilia that has a publicly viewable revenue weight listed, never seen that on a Motorcycle before (and I did check its registered as a Motorcycle and not some sort of weird goods vehicle!)

Why would you only sell it to me if I had knowledge of restoring them though?

probably so you know what you’re getting yourself into .
I think they’d be better saying only people without knowledge of restoration should get in touch as anyone who knows about restorations would probably run away as fast as they can .
